Excited to announce my the publication of my chapter in Frontiers of memory. I discuss the angry exchange between Jp & Canadian settlers over Ainu exhibits to explain how settler #heritage is the real problem.

Gaza is at a stage now where retrieving bodies from under the rubble is a luxury. Burying them is a luxury. Finding a body fully intact is a luxury. A few hours sleep is a luxury. Finding water, even if contaminated, is a luxury. We have failed them. We have failed them.

We are millions to feel powerless witnessing from afar the genocide currently unfolding against Palestinians of Gaza. Fighting this powerlessness means organizing for tomorrow to support, at our own scale, the Palestinian struggle for liberation. thefunambulist.net/editorials/tea…

Very excited to be joining this workshop @uniofleicester, organized by Magdalena Buchczyk and Yunci Cai. It's still in the works but I'll probably talk about defiant Ainu elders fishing for salmon without settler Japan's permission, Indigenous relations to lands and ICH

Given that most of these student projects are closely related to heritage, folks from @Crit_Heritage @achs_ecrn might be interested in potential ideas for heritage projects for students. FYI, I had a heavy emphasis on community engagement.

Museums, Exhibits and Ethics Students took up the challenge to think about the authority of a local museum and to recalibrate it as a forum instead of venerating it as a temple. sites.google.com/view/hh4021mus… 5/5

It's the end of the semester and time to showcase my students' work from my Public and Applied History course @NTUHistory @NTUsg . I'd like to also thank them for their hard work and stimulating conversations in class. Hope this was a good learning experience for all! 1/5
