Trying to increase participation in my afternoon online classes. Took this idea from a teacher on Twitter - put a sticker on your face every time a student asks/answers a question! Students loved it - also Minions were a hit. 🤣#onted #trying

#ELLchat_YRDSB-Q3- Learning is a social process. When students are afforded the opportunity to interact with peers, teachers and other experts using L1 they can communicate with confidence, share ideas and explore concepts in an authentic way.

#ELLchat_YRDSB A1 Multilingual classrooms honour student voice and help to develop a sense of mattering and belonging. It also helps with parent engagement and community partnerships. When students use L1, it brings attention to proficiency in prior learning.
