I honestly don’t want to waste my energy caring about stupid nonsense or ridiculous opinions like this. But speaking as both an interpreter and a 100% Thai person — it’s genuinely absurd watching people who know absolutely nothing try to twist things into drama, forcing someone to become “the bad guy” over a problem that never even existed in the first place. Let me explain something to you: Thai language is complicated enough that even Thai people from different backgrounds can misunderstand each other. It’s never directed or straightforward. So who are you to stitch together your own imaginary narrative and spread false interpretations based on assumptions you made up in your head? Thai is NOT as simple as opening a dictionary and translating word-by-word. In fact, words alone are never enough. Thai depends heavily on context — the entire conversation, the surrounding situation, emotions during the interaction, the closeness between people, seniority, tone, and so much more. One single word can carry a million different meanings. So don’t you dare assume things on your own. Seriously. As an interpreter myself, I don’t like holding grudges over translation mistakes because I fully understand that mistranslations happen. Translation is interpretation. Every translator conveys things differently. But the moment you choose to put out a translation publicly, you also have to accept what comes with it. That responsibility belongs to you. You cannot run away from that. And yes, once the damage is happened, maybe you can’t completely undo it. But the least you can do is acknowledge the mistake, and correct it properly. That’s the responsibility people are asking from you!
