I have a simple metric for things. It’s called the “What if Ty Gibbs did that” metric. And I think everyone who is intellectually honest knows if Ty Gibbs did what @RyanPreece_ just did, people would be calling for every punishment under the sun.

The NBA has declined more than any major sport in recent years. Analytics have effectively solved the game, driving a playing style that’s repetitive, less interesting to watch, and contributes to player injuries. By the end of the season, it’s a Hunger Games outcome (survival over winning) where the team with the uninjured players wins. Gambling influence and intentional team tanking have made the integrity of the sport increasingly questionable. These issues have been obvious for years, and management has done little to address them. Instead Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, is rewarded with a board chair position at Duke - which underscores the lack of merit and competence behind a declining institution.

I'm genuinely asking because I don't understand: What's the deal with the Cleetus hate? He's running ARCA (exactly where he should be to get experience), he has a ton of real enthusiasm for NASCAR and he's bringing a huge audience to your favorite sport. And all some of you do is take shots at him? Why? I honestly don't get it. Please explain?

Went back to Cody Ware's in-car after he spun to bring out the race-altering caution. Ware: "I think the right rear finally just gave up." Team: "You think it just blew or you think you had one going down?" Ware: "No, it blew. I mean, we were pissing off...we were driving off the right rear the whole run. It was terrible. We were stupid free the whole run."
