Even from earth satellites are not visible. for instance planes cruise around 10km altitude and massive in size. Yet they are barely visible. Now scale that to 1000's of km away.

@RayRay_2024 @OfcRyan79 @MmisterNobody shutter speed. You can try with your mobile camera too. But it will be less quality. Go to a dark room set shutter speed to 30s-60s and keep mobile stationary. 30sec Shutter speed means camera allows 30s of light before producing final image.

The camera that took this picture, a Hasselblad, was not protected in any way from solar radiation.
The moon unlike Earth is in direct intense sunlight as it has no atmosphere or magnetosphere.
The Kodak film would have been destroyed… this picture could not have been taken on the moon.
