@TaraBull We hired a sitter from Rover and she let our dogs escape. We found out while we were 30,000 feet above Texas en route to California from Atlanta. Worst situation ever. @RoverDotCom

UPDATE: Police say this happened last week in Warren in the area of 14 Mile Road and Mound. The woman, a pet sitter, can be seen smacking Frankie in the face and kicking him. The 6-year-old pit bull snaps at her, and the pet sitter then screams at a nearby child for the leash. Then, she manhandles him some more. Frankie’s owner – Bobbie Brody – says she’s used the same sitter four times. Brody said she found her on Rover and she had good reviews. "It was devastating, it was absolutely devastating that somebody we entrusted to take care of him, was actually abusing him in such a vile manner," said Brody. "It was heartbreaking." Now – because of the video, Warren police is on the case. "Do better," said Lt. John Gajewski. "I think this is one of those situations where, as an adult, we can do better. Everybody gets frustrated, but violence is never the answer." Frankie’s owner had to get back quickly from a trip after that video was sent to her from a friend after it was posted on social media. What we don't know: She says Frankie – didn’t have any injuries, but it is very possible this pet sitter could be charged. The pet sitter is not being named due to the ongoing investigation. What they're saying: Pet-sitting app Rover released a statement after this incident: "At Rover, safety is a top priority and we take any reports or concerns of animal mistreatment or abuse extremely seriously. "While this stay was not booked on our platform, limiting the information we were able to gather about this incident, our 24/7 Trust & Safety team conducted a thorough investigation with the information available to us as soon as these allegations were brought to our attention. We immediately worked to remove any other pets booked through Rover from the sitter’s care. The account of the sitter involved has been deactivated and we have reached out to the pet parent to offer our support. "Our team stands ready to assist law enforcement in their investigation to the best of our ability should they reach out."

Pet sitter caught on camera abusing customer’s dog in Michigan 😡🐾 A shocking video out of Warren is sparking fury online after a pet sitter was caught on camera repeatedly kicking and slapping a 6-year-old dog named Frankie while screaming at him. Frankie’s owner says the dog thankfully did not suffer physical injuries, but says she was horrified by what she saw. She had reportedly used the same sitter four different times after finding her through Rover, where the sitter had positive reviews. Police in Michigan are now investigating. Authorities have not publicly released the sitter’s name at this time, but charges are possible. Rover released a statement saying the sitter’s account has been deactivated and that any other pets in her care were removed immediately.

@RoverDotCom there is a lady in my neighborhood who abuses dogs left at her house by clients of your company. You will do nothing to her and she's still getting dogs dropped off as part of your business. I tell everyone I know to NEVER Trust someone found on your site.

@RoverDotCom I can but people in the neighborhood have reached out to you guys numerous times and nothing is ever done to this family! The cops were called there today because someone saw a dog tangled in cords for hours. They dump them in a tiny gross pen and leave them out all day!

@RoverDotCom Still not appearing in search unless “low acceptance rate” is selected, so clients can’t see me. Not receiving requests, so I can’t improve acceptance rate. Please escalate this as a visibility issue for technical review.

@RoverDotCom @aaroneasterly I’m a 5⭐ sitter (27 reviews, repeat clients) but only appear in search if “low acceptance rate” is selected. I decline only when not a good fit. Support hasn’t resolved this after multiple attempts. This is impacting my bookings. Can this be escalated?

@RoverDotCom rover had a horrible experience with one of your sitters and your staff are refusing to compensate us, even though our pet only stayed 1 night out of 8. Anytime we try to get a hold of somebody they say they’re in a meeting and we never are able to talk to a live person. Help?
