People might assume that going no contact with our narcissistic parents means we don’t respect family, don’t care, or are selfish. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, that’s what makes it so painful and difficult for us. We care about family more than our family did. Family means everything to us. That’s why we struggled to understand how they could treat us so cruelly. Choosing to go no contact is one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make. We had to mourn the family we never truly had, and face the harsh reality that the people who meant everything to us were the ones who were poisoning us.

Was never really into Linkin Park at the time, but been listening recently. Numb is an absolute tune. Especially the power of “all I want to do is be more like me and be less like you” 1000% ❤️
