Paid so much income tax (that jncl surcharge) that it feels criminal funding the corruption and broken infra. Govt seems to be taking more than 1/4th of my net income in direct taxes. Add GST, road tax, vat, tolls, airport dev fees and i am working for Sitharaman and not my kids or family. I curse them every yr but this yr I curse them a little more. May every penny they have squeezed get squeezed out of them in afterlife.

@curiosweetie Most likely advance tax liability ie tax you need to pay is more than TDS and the shortfall is subject to interest basis the amount you owe. If not, then it could be just erroneous. Last yr I got a notice even though it was fully paid. So they do try tricks to extort.

@royally_fiery Yea and interest too. I don't know why they have levied interest this time. My tax is deducted by my company at source, before I even get my salary so why am I supposed to pay interest ?

Have you ever observed that so many jobs exist only in India (& countries) like us because of Complex policy framework/ bureaucracy and Corruption (2 C's)?? If you are wondering, what about 1. Agents for passport, pan card, court marriage, driving license, birth certificates 2. There are companies who only job is to get govt clearances for foreign companies as they start. Think of orgs like InterGlobe Hotels who get licenses, land clearances and initial set up for big hotel brands like Accor / Ibis I can go on and on. So many hundreds of meaningless jobs kept alive due to babu and neta apathy.

Any attempt at nationwide insurrection in India will mean complete sympathies of their favourite minority. Because of it's primordial instincts that favourite minority will treat it as a religious war. Their target would not distinguish secular or Hindutvawadi Hindus. The reaction would also be on exactly the same lines. In the end corrupt party would become synonymous with their favourite party.
