@MichaelJordaan @grok @grok what was the role of FNB as a bank during the tenure of Michael Jordaan as CEO in any corruption mentioned anywhere during the commission of enquiry?
English

Dear @grok Read the entire Zondo commission report and say which 5 persons would be the easiest to convict in an SA court based on existing evidence
English

@Nicolo668063258 If you recognise the wisdom in this why do you insist on telling blacks they are slaves to the past, and only a transfer of wealth from "white barons" through revolution with break the cycle of poverty?

I'll be honest, I've been struggling with the Christian concept of "resurrection" for awhile.
I've talked about this with a few people.
I put that in the “beautiful story” box of Christianity, something I wanted to believe, but just couldn't.
I've loved Church, the community, the moral teachings, the concepts of love, kindness, generosity. Those are the reasons we decided to go back.
But my goodness... I have STRUGGLED with believing the Gospel story.
Rising from the dead?
I don't know, it was something I just haven't been able to get past.
Until today.
I just got past it.
Not blindly, I'm not covering my eyes and running.
But I am trusting that I cannot see, not a blind faith, but a compelling one.
Faith that looks at the hunger for justice I have wired into me and says, “That didn’t come from nowhere.”
Faith doesn’t ask me to ignore reality; but rather demands I face ALL OF IT, in it's most terrifying forms ...and still step forward.
So if I do not have the Resurrection, I have nothing.
No justice, no reunion, and the story ends...
...and today, I just refuse to believe the story ends there

@treehugger_7704 @Lebona_cabonena Many rural communities in SA have terrible internet. I live in one. The telco towers depend on ESKOM which often goes down. Starlink has none of these issues with super low ping (<40ms).
English

@Lebona_cabonena What's the big deal about Starlink. It's expensive, and you can basically get the internet anywhere in SA. I get 160 gigs a month for R199. I don't even use half of it. Mainly used for downloading on Netflix etc.

A "man cave" is an absurdly childish consumerist trend that shows our decay as a civilization
A gentleman should have a study, not a "man cave"

@RiebvJanbeeck That scenario: revival sweeps the land with millions coming to Christ, including hardened communists and racists. Those saved are discipled in a Christian world view, and Sourh Africa becomes a becon of hope to the world. God has done it before.

@Mabo_letso @MzamoDudula @Sinawo_Thambo If you don't want Elon to profit then why are you using an app he owns?
English

@MzamoDudula @Sinawo_Thambo Exactly. Yes, governance isn’t about holding grudges, it is about principles. Why would we allow a racist individual to profit off the black people he clearly despises? What government grants market access to someone who undermines its sovereignty?

Sinawo, I understand your frustration towards Elon after he shared that misleading clip about the EFF, but governance isn’t about personal grudges, it’s about serving the people.
There’s a child in a deep rural area who could benefit from Starlink, yet instead of ensuring accessible internet for all, we’re blocking competition and keeping data prices high. South Africans already pay some of the most expensive rates in the world, and monopolies are thriving while the poor remain disconnected.
As a lawmaker, shouldn’t your focus be on expanding market access rather than restricting it? Are we truly prioritizing empowerment, or are we just protecting business interests at the expense of the people?
English

@DavidMogashoa @elonmusk If this were true then any mention of "without compensation" would be redundant.

So .. you think it’s only white people that owns land ?
The Law applies to all South Africans.
Let me explain it to you like I am explaining to a 5year Old.
The Government is not going to confiscate land productive land, or properties.
Let’s say your uncle from Verwoedburg has a farm in Bela Bela and the government needs a portion of it for a rail system or road extension, they will engage your uncle and they will come to an agreement that they just need a part of his farm for infrastructure. Your uncle will keep the rest of his farm.
If your other uncle from Brakpan has a vacant land and he has not used it for years and the government needs it for Housing… they will again engage your uncle and say “Oom Piet , we need your land for housing . Can we come to an agreement.?
It’s not like the government is gonna send the army with whips to chase the farmers and white people away. No.
We have something called Gautrain in Gauteng. The same thing was done. There was no blood or anything. It was smooth negotiation and everyone agreed.
Now. … the 30% for Starlink still stands or you can keep it.
That’s the law.
English

@StolkOscar @woestyn_wolf Please share more pearls of wisdom. You seem to know what you are talking about.
English

The money supply in a country or monetary area is covered by the total of its possessions. A large portion of these possessions consists of usable land [that can serve as colleteral]. If property rights are not solid, there cannot be a property market, and hence no means of establishing the value of property. As a consequence the currency of that country/area will depreciatie in direct proportion with the establishable value lost (the element that represented the value of all the property there). In short, the entire population of the country/area will pay for this loss through [very] high inflation! And of course foreign investment will dry up, causing further hardship for all!

@elonmusk And yet South Africa still doesn't have access. Help us before you help the penguins, please.
