Good to see India's Tier-2 cities with huge potential no longer playing catch-up, but building infrastructure ahead of demand. Jaipur Metro Phase II just got the Union Cabinet nod. ₹13,000+ crore. 41 km. 36 stations. Delivered in one phase across 7 packages. This is city-shaping infrastructure that is stitching together industrial hubs, the airport, and dense residential zones into a single high-capacity connectivity corridor. And it is important to push back on a lazy but persistent argument that India should double down on 5-6 metros and let Tier-2 cities figure it out. That's a false choice. Concentrating all infrastructure investment in already-overloaded cities doesn't solve congestion , but it compounds it. Jaipur, Indore, Lucknow, Surat etc. These cities are where the next 50 million urban migrants in North and deep North will land. Building for them now is a good idea, Increasingly convinced that we cant build a resilient urban economy by making every ambitious young Indian funnel through Mumbai or Bengaluru or NCR or Hyderabad. Needs to be build by giving more cities the infrastructure to absorb talent, capital, and growth. Do both. The capacity exists. The need certainly does.

BC no work in India is ever started or completed without a series of politicians and political partiws taking credit for that project as if they are doing us citizens a favour. BC its our money that is being used to build that infra project. Hell its our money that these guys are looting in the name of development and then they say that its a gift for the people of the city by ao and so politician political party.

Both the twin tunnels open directly into residential zones. The intersections on both ends are not design to withstand the traffic influx. There is a high chance it will get congested soon after opening. And this will also give rise to emission levels in the area. To avoid this, they need to work on improving those intersections and making them non signalised.
