Not exactly K lesson, but I felt like giving a bit of a spiel on double eyelid surgery, uneven eye shapes, and why I feel like Wooyoung is literally rebelling against K beauty standards.
Double eyelid surgery- 쌍수 (쌍꺼풀 수술) (ssang-soo)
Uneven eye shape- 짝눈 (jjak-noon)
Monolid- 무쌍 (moo-ssang)
The reaction towards double eyelid surgery is honestly one of the topics I notice some of the strongest cultural differences. Many non-Koreans look at it with a very negative light, saying it perpetuates toxic beauty standards. However, when I talk to Koreans, it's kind of like the equivalent of getting braces. A lot of girls (idk about guys, but I suspect it's probably less) are offered double eyelids as a high school graduation gift. My mom actually asked me too 😅 Though I personally do agree that Korean beauty standards are sometimes just not sustainable, as a Korean American with monolids who has never gotten double eyelid surgery, I don't really condemn anyone for getting their eyes done.
Something a lot of people wouldn't actually know is that if you have monolids and straight hair (like most Koreans do), your eyelashes can poke your eyes a lot. As the skin droops more the grow older, sometimes you lose visibility and your eyelashes fall into your eye more often. Personally, I pull a stray eyelash out of my eye every time I wash my face. So yeah, I get the appeal of double eyelid surgery aside from just aesthetics.
Why would I consider Wooyoung's uneven eyes rebellious?
One thing that I think is prized in Korean beauty standards (and in a lot of the world's beauty standards actually) is symmetry. In a society that is used to creating thousands of double eyelids, where symmetry is a beauty standard, idols are held to said beauty standards the most harshly, I feel like Wooyoung embracing his uneven eyelids says a lot more than people sometimes realize. Not nly does Wooyoung express it as a beautiful characteristic, but just by keeping it despite having all the means to afford it, he really is challenging current beauty standards and representing people with uneven eye shapes.

K lesson: Ateez's Gayo Daejeon Outfits
Korean embroidery 자수 (jasu)
Symbols featured on the members' jackets + meaning:
Crane- 학 (hak)-- longevity, nobility, spirituality
Phoenix- 봉황 (bonghwang)-- virtue, prosperity, royalty (esp the queen)
Dragon- 용 (yohng)-- heavenly power, good luck, royalty (esp the king)
Pine tree- 소나무 (soh namu)-- integrity, longevity
Clouds- 구름 (gureum)-- harmony, heaven, longevity
Other things your might notice are symmetry or the presence of 2 creatures (ie: Yunho and San's jackets) which is supposed to mimick the yin and yang motif and longevity
Also the color black must have been intentional too. Based on the five cardinal colors (오방색/ oh-bang-saek), black (흑/heuk) represents water, North, winter, maturity, and wisdom
