Anti-American bad actors - communists, socialists, radicals - are waging an information war against liberty and the pursuit of happiness across Latin America. They’ve been at it since Castro and Chavez began repressing people in Cuba and Venezuela. They are now more effective with AI-powered social media and digital content, as well as biased “news” funded without regard to the common good. Putin is never about the common good in his own country, let alone the United States and Latin America. Colombia’s 2026 elections are now a prime target of a disinformation campaign in that war. Colombian voters in South Florida will continue to vote in large numbers, making all of us targets. We must push back and go on offense. My campaign is leading the way in South Florida. That’s why a Navy shipmate and I were the only Democrats who objected to CodePink’s propaganda “mission” to Havana last month. That’s why I object to Gimenez supporting negotiations with the Castro regime for its despicable survival and the administration’s betrayal of the Venezuelan people after we extracted Maduro. That’s why I object to Rep. Jayapal’s actions and words supporting Communists. She’s providing aid and comfort to enslavers. She's no defender of unalienable rights that the Creator endowed for all people, among them life, liberty or the pursuit of Happiness. I don’t care that she’s a Democrat. Integrity first. Country first.
