@TomDivon These days, I actually prefer writing in English. BUT: It’s a different genre, more effort—and for me, it also meant losing some of my native language. Funny enough, writing and speaking aca German has gotten much harder for me after doing a PhD abroad. (2/2)

@TomDivon Absolutely agree with all of this! I wouldn’t call myself bilingual, though—since true bilinguals often grow up with two languages. I started learning English in first grade, and it took a lot of work (and overcoming anxieties) to get to where I am now. (1/2)
