RSL Victoria is hosting a commemorative service to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific (VP) Day. Second World War Veteran Linda Westwood remembers her service and what she felt that day. @Anzac

On this day in 1966 Pte Anthony Purcell of Mansfield was shot and killed in Vietnam. Serving with 6RAR he was taking part in Operation Hobart around the village of Long Phuoc. Private Purcell is photographed below on 18 June 1966 baling water out of his weapon pit.
