Jamie and William's relationship is one of my favourite relationships within the Outlander books. I have been anxiously awaiting to see how their relationship will progress in Diana's next book. In the TV adaptation, I have really loved the way that Sam and Charles have portrayed their characters, and the way they have created the dynamic between the two. Yes, William is annoying sometimes. Yes, he probably needed a good throttling once or twice. But, geez, the guy has had more than a few upheavals in his life and he is still finding his way through these. Which he will do, eventually. Hopefully. I must admit, I am well and truly ready for their reconciliation. I think Jamie is, too. It is time for William to become the man he is destined to be. With two incredible fathers who love him and support him so, and now his extended family, I have no doubt that he will. The exchange between #samheughan and #charles_vandervaart on this week's episode was one of the best scenes of this entire season thus far. It was beautiful. Heartbreakingly so. I cried. To be honest, I sobbed. I was also smiling through my tears. Smiling because this is the Outlander that I love. This is the Outlander that I have missed. Ron Moore wrote an incredible exchange between these characters. This week's episode reminded me of how good this show can be, how good it has been, and how lost it has been since Ron stepped away. He wasn't a perfect shoerunner by any means, but I do feel that he at least understands these characters. I don't know how the series will end, but I am so very thankful for these beautiful moments between Jamie and William, and between Sam and Charles. Congratulations to them both on these scenes. They were exactly what I had hoped for. #Outlander #jamiefraser #Samheughan

So, now that we know that the Outlander season 8 showrunners have decreed the following to be true: 1. Claire's parents lived. 2. Faith lived, had children, and died a horrible death on her way to find her parents. 3. Fanny is Jamie and Claire's biological granddaughter. 4. Fergus is dead. 5. Lord John is quite happy to throw all caution and his adherence to social classes and etiquette to the wind for good time, all consequences be damned. 6. William is unable to experience any emotional growth and is stuck as a petulant child. 7. Lace makers have better medical skills and resources than pretty much everyone. 8. Master Raymond can time travel and bring people back from the brink of death but he can't remember to return a baby, that he stole, to their mother once said mother is feeling better. He can also determine that a song Claire sang to a dead baby would be much better than an episode of Find My Family or DNA testing to determine a blood relation. 9. Jamie can't seem to muster up a good old fashioned breakdown when his son dies unexpectedly. (I know Jamie is stoic, and strong for everyone else, but, come on, it was Fergus!!) 10. That Jamie and Claire no longer need physical touch as one of their love languages despite it being their main love language THE WHOLE TIME. Given all of this, how is the season is going to end? I mean, all gloves are off. Source material? Pfft, what's that??? Is Jamie going to die? Is Claire going to die? Will Faith magically reappear on the Ridge? Will Jamie summon the ghosts of his family to give him strength as he goes into battle, just like Harry Potter did? Will the bear's family turn up at the ridge and enact a bit of payback? Is Frank really black Jack Randall and he can time travel? Is Jamie somewhere in a shower, aka Bobby Ewing? Will Frank walk into their room at the B and B and find Claire asleep in the same comfy chair we saw in the first episode, book open in her lap. Will Frank wake her gently with a kiss, and as she returns his kiss the book falls to the ground and we see that the book is in fact Outlander and it has all been a dream. Her dream. (Ohhh, I probably shouldn't have put that last one out into the universe.) So, what is your best guess? Lay them on me. #outlander

So, there is a week's gap between episode 8 and episode 9. Let's have a few Watch and Tweet Parties. I say we watch a few of our faves. Sassenach, episode 1, of course. Maybe The Wedding. Rent. Dragonfly in Amber. Let's revisit the earlier seasons. What do you guys think?

Each year we celebrate Sam Heughan's birthday by raising funds for causes close to his heart. Given that the story of Outlander and Sam's portrayal of Jamie Fraser has had such a profound impact on so many of our lives, and of Scotland itself, the National Trust for Scotland, the Culloden Fighting Fund, has been selected as this year's birthday fundraiser recipient. "The battlefield is a powerfully emotive place, and it’s rare for a landscape of this age to be so relatively intact. The National Trust for Scotland has been acquiring and caring for parts of the battlefield since 1937. But the field of battle and the views that surround it are increasingly under threat from development, and we must work harder each day to protect its sense of place. The site cared for by the National Trust for Scotland covers only a third of the actual battleground. It sits within a cultural landscape which is owned by many different people and private organisations. It’s the field of battle itself and the views that surround the site that give it a sense of place. Over the past 10 years, Inverness has become one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, putting agricultural land in the Culloden area under increasing pressure from development. The integrity of the whole site is currently under threat from piecemeal decision-making, unclear guidance and a lack of focused resource. Without integrated planning, stronger support and a holistic response to the problem, it’s likely that the cultural landscape surrounding the battlefield will be lost. The NTS have opposed multiple planning applications, including a proposal right beside the battlefield to convert Treetops Equestrian Centre into a leisure resort with 13 lodges, restaurant and shop. We welcomed the Highland Council’s decision to deny planning permission, resulting in the protection of the wider historic battlefield. Action is needed now because the number of planning applications is likely to increase. A donation to Culloden’s Fighting Fund will help us work towards a collaborative approach to managing the battlefield and protecting the site for future generations." Information via the National Trust for Scotland. The fundraiser will run until May 2nd, 2026. Please note that donations will be made in your national currency and then converted to pounds for the overall tally. If you have any questions regarding the fundraiser or the process of donating please send me a DM and I will do my best to assist you. As always, please share the fundraiser's information across your networks. justgiving.com/page/jesuispre… Whether you donate, share the information, or donate and share the information, this fundraiser and it's success will be thanks to each and every one of you. Dinna fash, there's all of us now. #samheughan #outlander #jamiefraser #NationalTrustforScotland

Hello all you Sparkly Wonders out there👋🏼🙋🏽‍♀️ We have had a few weeks of warm weather here, this past week meeting or exceeding records. Some fog, our natural AC, would be welcome about now. Here’s two minutes of my backyard garden. I do live in the city proper so it’s not massive acreage. However for a city dweller it is a sizeable and peaceful sanctuary. I spend a lot of time out here reading and trying to engage in productive thought. And, of course, enjoying a glass of wine or two at day’s end. Wish you all could join me🫶🏽🤗🍷😎🌇

@Deadliftgrl @peekaboo_jen Agree 💯! What was their thought process to her being Faith’s daughter?? Terrible storyline to follow. I wonder if Sam & Cait thought about it. Maybe like the line that Jamie had to say to Clare as she was passed out and maybe dead - “If you die I will have to kill you “. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I am still wondering why they needed the ridiculous storyline of Fanny being Faith's daughter and therefore Jamie's granddaughter. She was already a part of his family because he had decided so. He loves her and he will always protect her. That is who Jamie is. After all, we've seen it time and time again. "You have my name and my family, my clan, and if necessary, the protection of my body as well." "His name is Fergus Claudel Fraser." After all these years I still don't think that the writers truly understand Jamie and who he is as a character.
