Traditionally, “God” with an uppercase “G” refers to an uncreated source of all that is, a first principle. Lowercase “god” or “gods” will usually refer to created beings that are not a first principle. E.g., Odin, Zeus, etc would be gods. A monotheistic deity would be “God” This is why Christians will insist you capitalize “God” when referring to the creator.

@TheIllegit It’s pretty fun when people accidentally rediscover basic Christian principles, but in reverse. I suppose it’s a sign the person is reaching the end of their rebellion. And has an important choice to make, as at that they’re looking at Christ and antichrist.

Even the demons believe. We are to repent, all of us, and love God with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of our might. And let’s be clear: Jesus is the Son of God, the Word of God made flesh. He is God. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” ~ Matthew 28:19

Great questions for my Protestant friends: Was the reformation of the church done by man or by God? When does reforming the church end? At what point do you retrieve the full apostolic deposit of faith?

Eh, let them celebrate the bunny and the eggs. The Holy Spirit is working. Most atheists are young, seeking truth wherever it takes them. And if they are sincere in their love of truth, it leads them to Christ, welcoming them home. Not the milquetoast lukewarm church, not cheap grace, but to the very foundational Christian Truth that undergirds civilization as we know it. Amidst the eyeroll inducing Reddit-tier atheists, are future Christian apologists.

Imagine if a bunch of American students in Beijing were chanting about Taiwan. You don’t even have to imagine… look at what happens. To be honest I support their deportation, exactly as I support the CCP to deport foreign protesters. You don’t go into someone’s house, as a guest, and demand they change their house. If you are a guest, you follow their rules, or you leave.

He created us. And then after we rebelled he offered salvation. And we rebelled again. And again. And again. He condescend down to our fallen suffering state, became a man, the literal Word of God made flesh. He was crucified. He suffered. He died. And in three days He rose again, overcoming death itself, as a man. He ascended into heaven, as a man, the Son of God, sitting at the right hand of God the Father. He did this for you. So that you, a fallen man, can be redeemed and join Him in eternal life. He did this out of indescribable love for you. And you may wonder, what kind of choice is this? Choose Christ and allow Him to save you; or reject Him, and suffer eternal damnation (away from God), where there will be weeping, and gnashing of teeth. It seems like not a real choice, almost like coercion. And yet, look how so many people choose that path, rejecting a completely undeserved gift of salvation, all so that we can continue sinning. Lord Jesus Christ Son of the Living God Have mercy on us

@TextbookLDS @economic_eth Did you really just ask me if I spoke for Christ while simultaneously trying to condemn me to hell? Literally doing what you just accused me of.. How about we pray for one another and ask Christ — the Word of God made flesh — to forgive us our trespasses.

I think it’s already happening. Ultimately this is God’s victory, and to the degree He invites anyone to participate is only by His grace. But yes, all faithful and Biblically literate Christians should condemn this obvious heresy. It is well-deserving of the ridicule it is rightfully receiving. They insist that the Mosaic covenant was guaranteed and not conditional, ignoring the very laws (Torah), and Moses’s (and God’s) clearly articulated curses to the covenant people who violate these laws. They can’t answer foundational questions to their own theology, such as: who are the Jewish people? Who are the convent people? Can they be atheists? Can they be secular?

🚨Catholics would like to come to the negotiation table with Protestants ✝️ and Orthodox ☦️ over an important matter.🚨 Proposal: We must form an intellectual Crusade against Dispensationalism and Christian Zionism. Total eradication. Prior to AD 1800, not one baptized person on earth believed these heresies. These heresies must be identified, mocked, and purged. We need more voices and more energy. Protestants, it's chiefly coming from your backyard. So y’all need to do some heavy-lifting. Do we have a deal?

It’s interesting how quickly we fall in to pride on this topic. It is a grave sin, our sin, that His church is in schism. It is an obvious call to repentance, but how often do we see that? How often do we assume “our church” is the right one? Or worse, seek vain unity in ecumenism rather than honestly seek Truth? Only Christ can heal and restore His church. We cannot do this, how prideful are we?! The fruits of the reformation are obvious for all to see (both the good and the bad). And the sins of the apostolic East/West schism underly this painful disunity. And today there are obvious antichrist elements attacking His church from within and without. I think anyone who doesn’t see this and insists that “their church” is the only true church, or that the true church is somehow invisible, is being deceived, exactly as Christ warned. “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” ~ Mark 13:22 It is only with humility and ever deepening repentance that we should approach this question. For God is sovereign, and His ways are not our ways, but clearly He allows us to suffer the consequences of our sins, and He does this for our salvation. He even invites us to participate in His victory. Such Grace is so completely undeserved by us wretched sinners. Everything that happens, even our most egregious sins against Him and His church, every schism, was allowed to happen, specifically for our salvation. And while we know these schisms will resolve in the end, every knee shall bow, we also know that the wheat will be separated from the chaff.

This feels like bait 🤔 You can’t be a leading authority on Dostoyevsky if you’ve never read the Bible, or are unfamiliar with Russian Orthodox Christianity. Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, The Possessed, Brothers Karamazov … these are all heavy laden with both subtle and explicit Biblical references, even overt Christ-vs-antichrist stories. If you like Dostoyevsky and haven’t yet read the Bible, you’ll want to read the Bible, every character in Dostoevsky’s books are telling an explicitly Christian story of sin and grace. These are not stories of psychology and sociology, these are Christian stories of death, resurrection, and unearned redemption.

There’s MANY religious perspectives, and interestingly as our modern perspective has ignored the ancient religions and tried to adopt purely secular and atheistic views, we’re now seeing a resurgence of all of those ancient religious behaviors. And it becomes clear that not all people are seeking truth, following truth wherever it may take them. In most cases people seek power, as simple as seeking luck at their job or in their relationships. And thus their religious worship becomes about themselves and has nothing to do with Truth, and their perspective is entirely self serving. Such religions simply lack the ability to build a civilization. This is just to say: not all religions are equal. And only religions that seek truth for its own sake can avoid the very predictable and ugly consequences of pursuing power, which is unfortunately what our modern view is doing.

Not at all. That’s a secular presupposition, which very much ignores the actual contributions and preservation of history from the success of Christendom. Secularism by and large is entirely based on Christian presuppositions, but it attempts to separate the fruits of Christianity from the tree and soil from which they grew. We forget that the very concept of universities and hospitals are Christian inventions (first appearing in Constantinople well before the west). The preservation of Ancient Greek philosophy, by Christians, is an illustrative example. We forget the norm throughout history was to loot and to pillage, to sacrifice, to enslave. There was no concept in the pre-Christian world of things like human rights and dignity. History is incredibly violent (everywhere), and the civilizing effects of Christianity are undeniable in the world. But also it has shaped the world in ways we often fail to see in our modern world, and then we wrongly assume it was always that way, that it was always civilized.
