@Slotoholic He's valued on TransferMrkr at €65M. If they can find a club to cough up half of that GRAB IT!

Since 28th of February, Cody Gakpo has featured in 18 games across all competitions, scoring 1 goal. In 32 games in 2026 he scored 4 goals. Simply an awful season for Cody. Do you think he can improve in the next one or we need to sell him?

@anfieldforge What's unforgivable is that he has had clear left footed opportunities and gotten blocked because he ALWAYS taked time to shift to his right. That's not acceptable on a U12 team.

The whole team underachieved this season, but one thing I can say for sure after four seasons is Cody Gakpo should not be at this club next year. He’s a forward that doesn’t actually excel at anything. He’s not quick, not agile, can’t really press, isn’t a great finisher or creator, and despite being 6ft 4 he’s barely an aerial threat either. He doesn’t even impact games off the bench. He’s just… there. Completely meh.

@charityslim A close friend's brother was operating as a doctor in Flushing, NY, an Asian community. He was completely off the gov't radar, enjoying American services without a nickel of contribution. He retired and went back to Jilin very wealthy after 16 years of theft.

Ethnic diversity makes communities interesting and desirable.
Randy Tinfow@rtinfow

@adesantisb @MiltonFriedmanW I live in a very diverse community. By choice. None of my immigrant friends (including my business partner), believe that unconstrained immigration is acceptable.

@adesantisb @MiltonFriedmanW The only problem I've experience recently is when I asked for Russian dressing in a Ukranian restaurant. My Uke friends teased this 25% Ruskie without mercy.

@adesantisb @MiltonFriedmanW Most Americans are connected to immigration. No problem at all with legal immigration. Our kids are a blend of Irish, Russian, Italian, Ecuadoran and Lithuanian tracing back just 110 years. The problem is unconstrained immigration. A land without borders is not a country.

@adesantisb @MiltonFriedmanW The people we see EVERY week were born in China, Korea, Japan, DRC, Honduras, Guatemala, Uruguay, Romania, Greece, Mexico, France, Ukraine, Iraq, Russia, and Germany. It's just a normal part of a rich life.

@JohnHann04 You know that FIFA shares the spoils with the 211 national associations that voted in Infantino? He keeps his office when he makes them happy. Lichtenstein, Gibraltor, and Andorra have the same voting and financial rights as Spain.

Less than a month to the start of the World Cup. Will you be watching? Maybe this will upset a lot of football fans (I am one) but I’ve never been so uninterested before. As with almost anything else #Fifa have allowed greed and money to spoil everything. This tournament is about one thing and one thing only, milking as much money from the sport as humanly possible. Completely taking the piss out of the fans, putting the game out of reach of most fans and now with the bullshit hold time show that ZERO real fans have any interest in, also endangering the players. I hope the whole thing is a massive flop!

@tetheredtoed1 I like the German model: Professional judges less swayed by emotion. They focus on evidence under inquisitorial procedures-active fact-finding by the court, limited discovery, quicker timelines and comparative liability. No "lottery winner" dynamic driven by ambulance chasers.

@tetheredtoed1 My brother and the league he coached in were sued by a biotech centi-millionaire because his 11 year old suffered humiliation from being substituted. The legal bills . . .

Regulating youth sports is so stupid. Especially this slopulism that is “no private equity” allowed. We need to just build and maintain more proper soccer fields everywhere kids are, especially low SES areas. Let every kid play. Adults get every kid playing. Do it with tort reform. Lawsuits and liability protection is the real cost driver in youth sports.

@tetheredtoed1 I spent half a year working for the defense side in a famous court case. Cost over $10M. It's a war of attrition that always favors the plaintiffs.

@rtinfow It’s a huge problem. Death by a thousand cuts. Only the wealthiest towns and school districts can withstand the financial and regulatory burdens.

My ideal is a text that's so difficult that no single student in the group can understand it on their own, and we work together to figure it out. It's sort of a learning club, where we're trying to understand difficult texts.

@THEChrisKessell And there are HS coaches who give preferential treatment to the kids who go to their camps or clubs.

My whole point about HS and club soccer in the US is that they need to work together as opposed to club soccer making HS soccer the enemy and scapegoat. Which is exactly what has happened. Yes. There are absolutely bad HS soccer programs. Nobody says there isn't. That said...

@Budgetdog_ On one occasion flying coach cost way too much. Flew overnight to Frankfurt and went straight to a negotiation. Costly mistake.

I’ve never flown first class and I really don’t see the appeal. It doesn’t even look much different. I’m not going to eat/drink on the plane anyway. There’s a bit more leg room which is certainly somewhat appealing but not the difference of first class and economy appealing. What am I missing?

@rtinfow @Budgetdog_ If you wait until the day before the flight the airlines will drastically reduce the fare if there are any remaining seats.

@phillee_58 @Budgetdog_ The differential for the NY - Shanghai 28 hour round trip is $4-8k. When I break it down by the hour of pain saved it’s a decent deal.

@Budgetdog_ For domestic I agree. For international that’s a 12 hour flight I am willing to pay an extra $1000 to be able to sleep on a small bed with plenty of room especially now that I’m a senior 🛌

@Budgetdog_ I’ve been bumped up to first class and accompanied others who paid the fare. The most interesting seat mates have been in coach - Richard Munro, CEO of HBO at the time, and Paul Samuelson. The economist lectured me on the preservation of capital. 😁
