🐨 Swim은 가사쓰는데 진짜 오래 걸렸어요. 왜냐하면 이 말을 사실 2026년에 하는 게 되게 슬픈 말인데, 이것도 의미 있는 노래로 만들고 싶었어요. 그냥 저는 사실 수영을 잘 못하는데, 이 삶이 Swim 같다고 생각을 했던 것 같아요. 그냥 군대에서 하루하루 보냈을 때도 마찬가지고, 막 기다리고, 방황하고, 그냥 하루하루 헤엄쳐 나가는. 그래서 저는 이 노래가 사실 되게 슬프고, 30대에 접어든 원숙해지고 여러분들과의 라포가 생기고, 조금 더 어른이 된 인생을 살아 나가는, 각자 인생을 살아 나가는 30대 BTS 같은 노래라고 생각해요. 그래서 이 노래는 사실 저는 개인적으로는 가사도 그렇고, 이 노래는 저한테는 되게 오래 남을 것 같은 노래고, 사실은 더 많은 애정을 받았으면 좋겠다. 당연히 저희는 어쩔 수 없이 퍼포먼스가 너무 중요한 팀이고, 원체 힙합이나 힙합 사운드나 그런 기반으로 성장한 팀이라 이게 싫으실 수도 있지만. 저한테 Swim은 정말 제 무덤에서 듣고 싶은 그런 노래입니다. 이게 사랑 노래처럼 들리기도 하면서 그냥 인생에 대한 얘기기도 하거든요. 그렇게 중의적으로 들리실 수 있게끔 하고 싶었고. 달과 상어 같은 이곳에서 너를 바라보면서, 네가 내가 사랑한 사람일 수도 있고, 팬일 수도 있고, 나 자신일 수도 있고, 내가 바라보는 내 인생일 수도 있고. 그런 여러 가지의 감정과 희노 애락이 다 들어간 되게 드문 노래라고 생각을 했어요. 개인적으로는 조금 더 사랑을 받았으면 하는 노래예요

🐨 I think I reached the sad conclusion that people dont really listen to lyrics anymore. so if my words reach anyone I hope they’ll listen to this album one more time and truly pay attention to the stories we’re trying to tell personally,that’s still something I quietly hope for

Namjoon about Normal 🐨: Normal is a very sad song. I wrote the lyrics in Korean and then changed it to English for radio and stuff, but yeah, there is a Korean version of Normal. The guys have even recorded the Korean version. Idk if it will ever be out tho. Anyways, kerosene is oil that lights the bulbs. One day you love me, one day you say you hate me fine make me bulletproof, so that I won't die even if you shoot me. There was this keyword of Normal. But what is normal for us? As we live as BTS what is the normal for me? Someday ppl tell me that they love me and the other day they tell me to get lost just like a very toxic couple. Ppl put us high 1000 times and pull down 1000 times too. "Two sides of a coin and they both ain't true" Both sides aren't true. Why? Coz both sides are true and both sides are fake at the same time. There's no one who can explain this team called BTS. "Wish I had a min just to turn me off" Fine this is the life that I've chosen and all mistakes are mine but I can think about having a min of shutting off from the ppl. This doesn't mean that I wanna give up on my life but I can hope for ppl to forget me for a moment. I think that's the feeling behind writing this lyrics. Now that I see this song is really sad too. "Fantasy and fame yeah the things we choose" We're accepting that we've chosen this fame. When we sing this song on stage we sing it as a happy song coz we're singing it together, coz this is the other side of the coin.
