My jaw nearly dropped watching this like what 😭 $10k is insane and nowhere near how much you would expect to pay starting out(you can literally do it for free!!). Now, it's not a universal rule. I'm a 36 year old musician, and I listen to more and more cool new shit throughout my life. You can actively build habits that resist creating a comfort zone and staying within it. It just takes agency. And if you don't use it, you lose it.

This person isn't wrong, btw. Studies show that this is the average experience for the vast majority of listeners: They check out new things until early adulthood, then their taste is locked in, and they largely snub anything that doesn't remind them of what they already like.
