Yesterday, some1 was telling me his experience of submitting a paper during his PhD which was frm a femous lab. The editor called the PI saying that he has received a similar paper. Hwevr, he can delay that n get this 1 published if they can address a few questions quickly. 1/3

Being on the academic job market has felt like getting my heart broken repeatedly. The amount of effort required to apply necessitates a degree of emotional investment in each position, so each rejection feels sharp & personal. I know it sounds dramatic, but this has been awful.

@JHElisseeff Well, I did my phd reading your articles and now still learning from you to how to be a good mentor. Well mealtime is the only time when students dont have classes and we can get together as a team to discuss. Not providing food that time would be so unethical.

The admin-faculty gap is clearly growing with increasing useless burdens. I now have to justify why my lab meeting is around a mealtime and why I need to provide food. here are options I am considering. pls feel free to add more
