Note to the Class of 2027…🎓🥎 To start, each and every one of us has a unique path paved by God. It is more than okay to not receive that phone call on September 1st. The recruitment process is different in many ways for each person and it may feel easy to compare your journey with others, but just remember that God’s plan for you will unfold perfectly. With my recruitment process, I didn’t receive many calls on September 1st. Yes, I did feel nervous about not receiving many. But, I came to learn that it doesn’t matter how many calls you get on that specific date. September 1st is the first day of many that softball coaches can actually reach out to athletes. Here is my story😊: I went to Ball State for a hitting clinic and prospect camp during the winter in 2024 and continued to tag and reach out to Coach Peña, Coach Burns, and Coach Steiner. I worked harder than ever after the clinic and camp, and ended up having the best high school softball season I’ve had yet. My high school team and I won the 2025 DIV VII State Championship for the first time in school history and I had 17 home-runs which broke the school record of 14. During a tournament in Indiana this summer, I had one of the best games I’ve ever played. After this tournament, the coaches at my #1 top school, Ball State, invited me to come on a visit and I felt so blessed and grateful. I knew as soon as I went on the visit that this was the place that felt like home away from home, and I committed there very shortly after! Finding a college that feels like home to you takes time, but don’t EVER give up on your dreams or get discouraged. It is a bumpy journey, but it is all worth it. You’ve got this!❤️🖤
