Me and @primal_brainer were the first two girls hired at Matiks. Now the Growth team has 5 girls and only 2 guys. Started from “where are the girls?” Now it’s “wait… how did we become the majority?” 😄

The problem came when I was trying to clone a running virtual machine, need to make copies of the root file system very fast. Here copy is happenig without data coming to userspace, its direct kernel to kernel transfer and only involving data chunks not holes. @cloudgrep

You want to copy file in linux very efficiently. How will you do it ? I'm using sparse copy with parallel copying of the filled data segments. so say if you are copying 10gb file and you only write say 500mb then I copy just 500mb instead of 10gb, much faster. Holes are ignored.

@govardhana_mk So I was figuring out this today. After the image pushed to artifact registry, we can use argocd image updater who keeps a check on for new image tag in registry. Image updater then modify the manifests file and make a commit which then synced by argocd.

Many DevOps Engineers don’t fully understand how DevOps and GitOps CI/CD pipelines differ. In a DevOps CI/CD pipeline, everything runs in one flow from code commit, tests, build, image creation, to direct deployment into the Kubernetes cluster. It is fast and centralized but tightly couples deployment with the CI process, leaving little room for separation or control. In GitOps pipeline, CI handles tests and builds, but deployment happens through Git commits. A controller syncs changes from the repo to the cluster. Here, I’ve made this to help you better understand. 56K+ read my DevOps and Cloud newsletter: techopsexamples.com/subscribe What do we cover: DevOps, Cloud, Kubernetes, IaC, GitOps, MLOps 🔁 Consider a Repost if this is helpful

i’ll never understand people’s obsession with eating less and glorifying it. like “omg i’m just gonna take a lil bite and i’ll be full.” that’s not cute. that’s a disorder. try building a better relationship with food. food was never the enemy. it’s the way you eat or what you eat. did you know eating less disrupts your hormones, your emotions, and of course, the vitamins and nutrients your body needs? eating momos never posed a problem. but the moment someone eats a big bowl of salad, you’re quick to judge with “bhai, kitna khaega?” it’s not the volume that matters, it’s what’s inside. that big bowl of salad probably has half the calories of the momos you just devoured. mocking or judging others says more about your preferences than the other person’s. so either heal yourself or shut up.

Matiks is to thinking what WTF is to conversations. WTF is casual yet intellectually stimulating convos, Matiks is casual yet intellectually stimulating duels. It’s a "social" sport for your mind. Gen Z spends 7+ hrs/day on their phones, losing curiosity and focus. Real crisis isn’t jobs or capital. It’s cognitive fitness. Without fixing attention, every other bet fails Matiks replaces doomscrolling with a dopamine driven duels. > 1v1 duels: instant gratification without brain rot > leaderboards & streaks: social accountability > low-friction: as easy as opening Instagram, but healthier. so in the same moment someone would scroll memes, they can now duel and sharpen attention. I’d be grateful for a shoutout if you do like it. I also have ideas on how we can collab to solve this problem at scale. @nikhilkamathcio @MatiksHQ

#Kubernetes might look like magic, but under the hood it’s welded tightly to the #LinuxKernel and some tricky low-level tools. 🛠️ This thread breaks down 10 key things you should know about that relationship (and why it sometimes bites you).. 🧵👇 #Linux #DevOps
