Pretty unreal first two days of spring across Nebraska. We might see the warmest temperature ever recorded in March in some Nebraska cities on Saturday!

Not only did the #Huskers win their first every tournament game, a few cities saw their warmest temperature on record for this day!

If you're headed out and about for St. Patrick's Day in Lincoln, it's going to be a little chilly. Not cold, by any means, but a chill in the air. There will be plenty of cloud cover and maybe a flurry or two.

40-66 mph wind gusts for the eastern half of the state. I did see a 71 mph wind gust at the Hastings Airport just before 2pm today. They are at 66 mph now.

115pm Sunday, March 15th A LOT of wind is blowing around this Sunday afternoon. Snow is moving through eastern Nebraska creating whiteout conditions in spots. Travel will be difficult while this light snow moves through.

NE Nebraska that was in a Winter Storm Warning (Wayne, Cedar, Pierce, Knox, Antelope, and Thurston) has been upgraded to a Blizzard Warning 7am-9pm. Lancaster, Butler, Saunders, Seward, Cass, and Otoe counties have been added to the Winter Weather Advisory from 7am-9pm Sunday.

Snow Timing - Sunday, March 15: A wintry mix turning over to snow will arrive in central Nebraska early Sunday morning, reaching SE Nebraska between 8 and 10 AM. Snow showers are expected to continue through the afternoon, joined by wind gusts between 65 and 70 mph. #NEwx #KLKN

As of Saturday morning (March 14, 2026), an estimated 464,017 acres have been impacted by the fire NW of Lake McConaughey (Morrill Fire). The fires across the state are being battled by firefighters and with the wind expected Sunday, things may get worse before they get better.

We are on the edge of a major winter storm. Blizzard Warnings are in place for almost all of IA, MN, and SD. For NE Nebraska, Winter Storm Warnings (pink) and Winter Weather Advisories (purple) are in place Sunday. We'll see 1-2" of snow in these areas with 55-65+ mph wind gusts.

The ENTIRE state is in a High Wind Warning Sunday, March 15th. Sustained northwest winds at 35-45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are very likely. A few 70 mph gusts are also possible. If any snow if falling at the time, whiteout conditions will happen quickly.

While most of us sees a trace to 1" and 1-2" north, that won't be the main issue. It'll be the wind blowing this snow around. Wind starts Sunday morning, snow starts in northern Nebraska in the AM, into central and eastern Nebraska in the afternoon and evening.

This isn't going to be a lot of snow, but there will be a LOT of wind to go with it. It's not going to be a pleasant day. (For Sunday, March 15th)

Winter Storm Watch for Sunday: A couple inches of snow is likely in the watch area. Trace to 1" for central and SE Nebraska. LOTS of wind for everyone.
