Arcola’s Community School Steering Committee visited the neighborhood bus stop this morning to invite parents to complete our needs assessment. The information gathered will help guide future decision-making and positively impact both our school and the broader community.

In partnership with @AIMforPower, we hosted our first community conversation of the school year. Together with families, staff, and community members, we discussed our shared hopes, wants, and needs for Arcola and the broader community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Montgomery County Police Department District 4 officers for their generous donation of winter coats for our students. Your support makes a meaningful difference in our community.

We’re so thankful for our generous community members and local businesses who donated coats to help keep our students warm on their way to school or while waiting at the bus stop. Your kindness makes a big difference!

Thank you to our partner, Josie’s Closet, for making sure our students have warm clothing to come to school this season. Your generosity helps our students feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn!

This was our first steering committee meeting of the new school year. We discussed how we are in our asset & needs assessment year. We reviewed our needs assessment template & made updates. We’re excited to identify more assets & find out what our community needs! Goal=⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our PCC, Ms. Juarez, helped parents sign up for ParentVue & Parent Square, complete their volunteer training, and set up School Cash online accounts. Thanks for providing a space for our parents to be engaged as it sets our students up first success!

Our adult English class remembered my birthday. It’s special when our community comes together in a learning environment where everyone is growing and supporting one another. The effort they made with the cake & the love they showed really speaks to the relationships we’ve built.

A HUGE shout out to our partner @MannaFoodCenter for continuing to support our families experiencing food insecurity! Each month 100 families are the beneficiary of gift cards to @GiantFood. Making sure our students have access 2 food helps improve their attendance & academics!
