@exitthelemming A wonderful tribute giving the depth of your brilliant mother’s work, talent, & impact. With my Mum on the dementia journey, I might borrow your line & take inspiration remembering the entirety of her experiences & the kaleidoscope of context those born in 1930s lived through.

@DrHelenFry The fence first prompts it is a ghetto of some kind but the sea proximity makes me think it is the Isle of Man when it was set up for prisons of war/internment of aliens during World War II?

@HouseHistorian Oh! I have some direct family from that area from 18-19thC! Let me know if you come across any Wallis or Sames family members - more likely farm workers rather than house owners though

@FederationFHS Spend time with family & record them - ask them to talk about memories of their ancestors; plan 5 things you want to know about your family alongside building family pedigrees; join family history societies for training & community -where you live & also places from your heritage

@HiddenYorkshire I also think it has a twin - Mount Warning or Wollumbin in Australia as Roseberry Topping is just around from the birthplace of Capt James Cook at Great Ayton and he was the first European to write about it...(we also have his house in Melbourne)

Love this tip:
Genealogy Jude@GenealogyJude
Tip of the day: when visiting a church connected with your #familyhistory, make sure you write in the visitors’ book and mention the family you are researching. You never know who might read your entry: perhaps another descendant or a local person who can help you. #genealogy
