The Bradford Bulls reserve side just beat Castleford Tigers 40-24, with strong performances from Connor Wynne, Brandon Douglas, and Mitch Souter, giving Kurt Haggerty plenty of headaches ahead of the top-six match against the Leeds Rhinos at Odsal Stadium on Good Friday evening. Brandon Douglas and Mitch Souter joining Harvey Duckworth (2), Harvey Ward, Lore Jones-Buchanan and Tom Guilhoumou in scoring tries for the Bulls this afternoon. Ticket sales for the game on Good Friday are going well, with another 10,000-plus crowd guaranteed to see the first Super League meeting between the two Rugby League giants since 2014.

@WSWanderingEels Correct. Clubs all profitable. Investment into development. NRL get double the content to sell. Win win. The figure is a little higher than I expected though. FairPlay to the NRL for not doing things half arsed.

@mattdunnell Not necessarily. If clubs like Wakefield & Cas can prove they can operate individually in front of crowds of 8-10k averages then no reason why things won't stay as is. Now in 10-20 years things might change like.

If this NRL takeover goes ahead, I don’t see us and Wakefield existing, guaranteed merger in my opinion

@chrisholme1983 Surely if you’re getting that much some has to be spent on infrastructure strengthening the game from its foundations.

Has to be strict guidelines on what that is spent on. All travel to and from France for the clubs involved should be covered. Clubs should have to put on reduced cost away travel SL clubs must have reserves/academies £3m CAN NOT just be added to salary cap

Why haven’t Huddersfield grown in 25+ years? Tens of millions in central funding, plus millions more from Davy. Questions need to be asked of the ability of those in charge at the club, have they got the expertise to grow the club, why don’t the people of Huddersfield care?
