It’s Friday. I just want to voice policy will only free a few. Actual liberatory work like dearresting, etc. will free many more and reduce harm. May we all strive to be brave and dangerous in times of crisis. Think about your role. Take it serious. Time is coming very very soon.

Every photo op of cops cleaning graffiti, giving out food, & yes, seemingly wholesome shit like removing bees is meant to be a distraction. Doesn’t change inherent violence of policing. Other workers can & should be doing these jobs. It’s the city’s job to fund that workforce.

It’s official, the San Francisco Unified School District is launching a Samoan Immersion Program in its system. Our students will be able to learn Samoan starting as early as Pre-K. As both a Samoan and SFUSD graduate, I am so damn proud of our people and city.

If you’re from South City, do yourself a favor and read this inaugural issue of “Que Onda” by high school youngsters in South City. Such a dope zine, hella informative, and on point. THEY EVEN GOT A CROSSWORD PUZZLE. #p=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">online.fliphtml5.com/ninaj/lnkd/#p=1

Two years ago @DalyCityPD stopped Armando Escobar Lopez and turned him over to ICE. It was traumatizing and unlawful. @DalyCityGov must address the harm they caused to Armando by updating their policy to end ties w/ICE, fully compensate Armando, and support his U-visa.

Since 2018, the San Mateo County’s Sheriff has handed 100+ immigrants to ICE after they already served their sentences, instead of allowing them to return to their families. Join @SMCCIR's 6/30 community meeting to learn how we can #StopICEtransfers. RSVP: bit.ly/SMCCIRcommunity

Yesterday the San Mateo County Coalition for Immigrant Rights held a vigil honoring fathers impacted by ICE transfers, a voluntary practice by the Sheriff that hands immigrants to ICE after they’ve already served their sentences.

I was in county jail for 4 yrs where I paid $0.92 for a top ramen soup that costs $0.10 out here. For the following 12 yrs in state prison, I paid $0.25 per soup, a 150% increase from what it costs out here. Please do not argue w/ me about how “public prisons” are not for profit.

Many people will turn George Floyd into a martyr today. We must fight to remember that he did not *give* his life for justice, for our movement, for an uprising. He wanted to live. He fought to live.
