@RadioGenoa No idea why you are lying like this. Only about 10-20% of the Europeans is an active Christian (not counting the 'administrative' Christians like me). The majority of the Europeans is non-religious.

@MagellanQuest In the Netherlands, we literally have less than 15 days a year on which you'd need an AC. So no, I will not install an AC for that. But I do have a few which are used in winter to heat the house since that is way cheaper than using gas.

Europeans get mocked for not having AC. Americans get mocked for needing a car to do literally anything. One continent forgot cooling. The other forgot how to build cities.

@rweersch @RealBrittHughes We used to have an Italian restaurant here where the owners' mom from Sicily was in charge of the kitchen. They served handmade meatballs the size of tennis balls, handmade fresh pasta and sauce. There's nowhere like that now that I know of.

The best part about cooking your own meals is that eventually you get so good at it that you stop wanting to eat out because you know you can not only make it cheaper, but better.

@RaisingLesBars @RealBrittHughes I actually once tested a friend who is a real "sushi addict" and refused supermarket sushi. I got some from a renowned sushi joint and from the supermarket. He could not tell the diff. I guess most "western" sushi joints don't serve Japanese grade sushi.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but even higher quality restaurant meals seem pretty meh. I think it’s gone downhill across the board. Of course, not foods like sushi. But my best bet at this point has been to find delis and diners who simply pay attention to serving fresh quality food. Not fancy, just cooked correctly without cheapening out on ingredients.

@CeciliaGlennon @RealBrittHughes I think it happened already way before Covid. In the 80s/90s/, restaurants would make everything in thier kitchen. Now 75% of your place is store-bought unhealthy stuff.

@RealBrittHughes I agree. In at least 75% of the restaurant I visit(ed), the quality of the food was disappointing. Too much store-bought stuff like sauces, dressings, even breaded meat. I can do that better, healthier and cheaper at home.

@RudeOnion I had a gen-z colleague who was always complaining about the fact that he was always short of money. But he bought a EUR 6 frappuccino every day, had a way too expensive car and about 5 streaming video subscriptions...

No exaggeration but talking to some of these entitled zoomers is like arguing with a 4-year-old. Me: "You can save a lot of money by cooking food at home and packing a lunch." Zoomer: "But groceries are too expensive! And I don't know how to cook! Me: "Look, you can always make a sandwich. It isn't hard." Zoomer: "You want me to eat just sandwiches EVERY DAY?? Like some PLEB??" Me: "I mean, the point is that you make something simple, easy and cheap. It doesn't have to be a literal sandwich. You can make spaghetti and take leftovers to work." Zoomer: "But then I have to buy all the ingredients! And every recipe has a completely different set of ingredients! I'm not going to buy the entire spice isle of Walmart!" Me: "Ffs you buy the basics and use them for multiple recipes, featherbrain 🤦‍♀️" Zoomer: "WHAT ABOUT TUPPERWARE?? TUPPERWARE IS EXPENSIVE TOO!!" Me: *self deletes* fin.
