@gateshead The council might want to consider bringing back trams linking Newcastle & Gateshead via the high level & Tyne bridges and Newcastle and the metro center to ease congestion. They could learn a lesson or two from how cities like Vienna run their network.

Work to prop up part of the Gateshead Highway flyover is underway. Construction workers are now working to place props around a pillar which is directly over the tunnel where the Metro runs, providing additional support for the structure.
