This program is strictly state-funded without any U.S. taxpayer federal dollars or reimbursement. By cherry-picking this NY-specific initiative—costing the state about $100 million annually—Vance propagates misinformation implying a broader Democratic federal scheme.
If you are going to amplify isolated state policies to stoke fears of taxpayer-funded benefits for undocumented people, make sure it's not Google-able.
