SmokePing graph monitoring my gateway on @CityFibre. #cityfibre #CityFibreDown
Looks like whatever happened started at about 2:30 and got progressively worse.

English

@CityFibre @ryancdotorg @TGCheeto Finally a response from @CityFibre not telling people to speak to their ISP’s, which it issue is clearly not at.
If all ISP’s are having problem then what is the common factor?
The infrastructure 👏
English

@CityFibre how does your servers keep going down MINIMUM once a month? I genuinely don’t understand..are all your employees 12 years old or sum?
English

@ashwinpd @CityFibre @TGCheeto Seems to be back up for many people. For anyone not online, I'd recommend restarting their router.
English

@CityFibre @TGCheeto I've got £20 on "hardware fault triggering fail-over to a system that lacks sufficient capacity".
English

@CityFibre @TGCheeto Anyway, since CityFibre isn't going to post it, there's now an article up about the outage, which will probably be a better source of updates:
ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2025…
English

@JoJones49 @CityFibre @TGCheeto Because the person posting here is a low level employee who either does not know more or is not allowed to tell the general public more.
They probably have a flowchart or something they're required to follow for responding on social media.
English

@CityFibre @ryancdotorg @TGCheeto As @CityFibre are the common denominator in all the outages, I’m unsure why you’re asking us to contact our ISP’s, when the issue clearly lays with you. Surely you should be giving updates?
English

@CityFibre @TGCheeto Translation: "Something is seriously wrong, we don't know how long it'll take to fix, it is our policy not to share any further details to the general public, however we are logging complaints about this policy"
English

@ryancdotorg @TGCheeto Hi Ryan, we understand the frustration with the widespread outage. Our engineers are working to resolve it ASAP. We will pass on your feedback to the department in charge. Thank you.
English

@CityFibre @TGCheeto Or you can keep fobbing people with "not our problem" responses that make them even more frustrated. 🤷
English

@TGCheeto @CityFibre Honestly, this is the first time I've had an issue with CityFibre in the last six months, and I have monitoring in place to log problems.
English

@ryancdotorg @CityFibre Yeah, I’m also convinced ISPs don’t get along with cityfibre due to its insane unreliability 💀 but I wouldn’t blame them tbh, cityfibre states “flawless speed and reliability” yet it goes down 2-3 times a month for almost everyone
English

@CityFibre @2StripeFatKid I ran a traceroute. Interpreting traceroute results is more of an art than an exact science, but my professional opinion, as someone who's worked in IT for over twenty years, is "CityFibre is proper fucked".
English

@2StripeFatKid Hi, Chris. As your Internet Service Provider (ISP) manages your direct connection, please contact them for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your service. Thank you.
English

@TGCheeto @CityFibre It's probably some low level person who doesn't know anything, and the actual technical people are probably still in bed.
I did, in fact, contact my ISP first, who said CityFibre hasn't told them anything. and it's been down since about 2:45am...
English

@ryancdotorg @CityFibre I swear the admin is paid to just say “contact your ISP, and leave me alone”
English

@CityFibre @TGCheeto All ISPs using your infrastructure are down, and mine says they've not heard anything from you about the issues.
English

@ChristieElanCan I don't know if you will see this, but my appeal hearing is tomorrow.
