I'm a big fan of the idea that once you hit a billion dollars, you get a plaque in a park saying that you won at capitalism and everything you make over a billion is taxed at 100%

@clg9998 @Brave_Trades @USA_Polling Well if actual income is generated, it would naturally be taxed. But more than likely they are rolling it into another value-add asset that they’ll just borrow equity from in the future.

@ryancham @Brave_Trades @USA_Polling Perhaps "taxed on any income gained from that transaction" might be more sensible. The assets can always still depreciate, meaning the borrower would have to pay back the portion of the loan not paid off by the sale of the assets.

@USA_Polling Honest question. How do you tax people who’s net worth is shares of a company. I don’t think a “tax” is the answer. I don’t think people should be able to borrow against their stocks.

All the rich people I know love living in places with HOAs. No broken down boats. Rainbow yard signs. Grass 2 feet tall. Lack of weed control. Broken fridge on front porch. Broke people hate HOAs because they hate doing basic things to make their houses look nice.
