The answer is that the players are the only people that have the authority to make the decision to transfer.
At times, in college hoops, we act as if the players don’t have parents and guardians who love, support and guide them in making decisions.
18-23 year olds aren’t kids.

When people say they want to limit transferring because the players make too many mistakes, my answer is usually, "I have enough problems raising my own kids." The question isn't what's the best decision for these players, the question is who should have the authority to make them?

I think it's important for everyone in AB to remember that the UCP didn't have to use the NWC in their legislation. They also could have (and I'd argue should have) used binding arbitration rather than imposing a contract.
