@tyler_austin55 Everything the government "helps" gets worse. Any politician who rolls back gov't "help" will post consistent Ws. The question is whether the people will abide the temporary discomfort long enough to see the change.

I'm bearish on screen fatigue being a significant reason people continue to value physical books. We're told screens are inevitable while also being told they're bad for health. Experts say we're losing our ability to think, and research shows (basically) that the more analog something is (writing vs. typing, etc), the better. Overall this feels like the fast food boom of the 90s...and that one day we'll realize it's all destroying us from the inside out. My hope is that given the speed things are going, this realization will take years and not decades.

@ZacharyGarris I wonder how much of the broadening is driven by financial bloat? Seminaries are expensive to run. The future is likely micro-seminaries with dogged orthodoxy for local students with virtual/asynchronous professorial instruction and in-person pastoral tutelage.

I was subpoena'd by a court 7 states away and required to report years of business records/contracts/invoices, etc. It's a headache. But...while I'm compiling and lamenting the task (nobody has time for this), I faintly hear my wife and 4 daughters singing the doxology to begin another day of learning and joy. God is has indeed dealt bountifully with me. No question about it.

President Trump put out the call to rig the system in order to maintain the Republican majority in Congress, and red states are answering. I support efforts to level the playing field. In Washington state, we would need a two-thirds majority in both the House and Senate to change our redistricting process.
