It has now, effectively, died there. As shown in the chart, in the late 1980s, around two-thirds of the UK’s electricity came from coal. By the time I was born in the 1990s, this had dropped to just over half. The use of coal has plummeted in my lifetime. It now makes up around 0.1% of the UK’s electricity. Coal was first replaced by gas, but is now being pushed out by wind, solar, and biomass.

It doesn't have to be this way. We have a world full of fruits, vegetables, grains, and pulses.

@RobertKwolek Sadly, wonderful trees like these exist on pavements next to people's homes, and councils will cut them down to avoid pay-outs for damaged foundations. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

There's a pavement near me which the tree roots have seriously raised up. One has to step over it. Many councils would consider chopping the tree down. Instead, why not fill the area with bountiful planting and create a pavement bypass. More function and more beauty.

Almost every sentence here is wrong Wind farms allow farming to continue around them, their land footprint is small, &they produce the cheapest new electricity available Turbines are steel, concrete & copper, & much is reusable or recyclable Calling it a scam doesn’t make it one.

I'm a big fan. These are probably the best frozen pepperoni pizzas I've ever eaten (meat or plant-based). It's a shame they're rarely in stock in our local ASDA.
