@beatdom Whilst I understand your word choice and while I am cultural sensitivity to it’s roots, one must remember Americans are remaking the English language in our own image whilst British English speakers look on in horror. While I know it bothers you, this too will pass in a while.

Every time I submit an essay, it comes back with "whilst" changed to "while" and various American friends have told me my use of the former seems archaic/pretentious. It's always seemed normal to me, though. So, time for a poll.
