Punters in my local Coral aren’t happy with the news that @JohnnyDineen is leaving, or maybe it’s aimed at @DavidJenningsRP 😂

@Jfitz1575642 The Champion Trainers job is to win the most prize money during the season. Same for the flat. Same for the Irish champion. Willie is obvs better than Skelton and Gordon but they might win more prize money this year.
English

@ryanOTHx The problem is he hasn't trained a real good grade 1 horse and his big pots come after his horses are intentionally losing for easy handicap marks. I don't think it's a good thing for a champion trainer's best ability be to make the best horse lose so they can win a bigger race
English

Before this turns into a slanging match, Willie is the best trainer. Just like Pep Guardiola is the best manager. They get the best horses/backing bcause they deserve it & they’re proven
Skelton wins huge pots with 125-145 horses like no other & that’s why he’s champion trainer
ry@ryanOTHx
Willie could have the first 20 in the National and he wouldn’t stand a chance. It’s been a long time coming but Dan Skelton is finally Champion Trainer. Another brilliant Saturday & going back to Cheltenham, Madara & Supremely West sum up why he’s streets clear in UK.
English

@ljtumelty so if David Raya takes a goalkick, it misses all the attackers & defenders, it rolls slowly towards Donnarumma and he picks it up. That's a shot on target under your definition?
English

@ryanOTHx it shouldnt be subjective. if its going in the goal off an attackers body and the goalkeeper is forced to make a save.. it should be a SoT.
English

These genuinely get worse and worse every week. Szoboszlai the best free kick taker in the league and here he is floating a cross in at about 20% of the power he would have done if he was actually shooting.
STOP BETTING ON THESE MARKETS IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THEM
Burt.@JayArsBBQ
This is not a shot on target from Szoboszlai according to @OptaJoe and @bet365 He's had a direct kick towards the goal that required the keeper to intervene otherwise it would have resulted in a goal.
English

@CallMeBayGirl but now youre being specific. Everyone can see Szob isnt really putting any power into that. Obviously its more powerful than a womans shot though but thats a completely different debate,
English

@ryanOTHx So virtually no women's football shots on goal will qualify under your shot power rule.
English

@Dan__Burke__ That's my point though, any goal is a shot. Even if a left back wallops it with no intention from 70 yards. But that doesn't mean every ball that goes to the keeper is a shot.
English

@trentx962 You have to use someone. If the bookies decided themselves internally they would get even more abuse. What would you recommend?
English

@Dan__Burke__ Okay example, Raya clears a ball from his own goal 120 yards out, goes over the Arsenal attackers/City defenders, it rolls all the way to Donnarumma and he picks it up 6 yards out. Is that a shot on target? No, but if Donnarumma missed it & it went in, it would be a shot.
English

That’s a fairly flawed rule in my opinion
If the keeper stops a certain goal , from a ball that’s been played towards goal by a player , ball doesn’t go near anyone along the way, and its a goal only for the keeper stopping it, well it’s a shot on target in my eyes
But that’s why I’m a punter and not an analyst I suppose 😂
English

@trentx962 From the angle it's obviously not a shot, from the power it's not a shot and from the aim. If he was to shoot from that position, it would be more powerful &more than likely the near corner to trouble the keeper. I would personally say thats a 95% cross, 5% shot. Comments agree
English

@trentx962 No but I was a former Opta analyst 2018-2024. That would be counted as a shot maybe once in a thousand. You've got no chance and I can guarantee you that won't get overturned.
English

@ElliotElli58066 @olliepettinger This, it's the simplest thing ever. It's a cross. If it went in, it would be a goal, and then count as a shot. But it didnt go in, so it's a cross.
English

@olliepettinger @ryanOTHx Simple. Not a deliberate shot on target. It’s a cross which very rarely could end up in the back of the net. At that point only it would become a shot on target as it’s a goal. Not difficult
English

@trentx962 "his intention was to shoot". Szob is the best free kick taker in the country and you think that's his attempt at a shot? People are either trolling or have never watched him play before.
English

@alfmontague But we don't have to deal with 'ifs' here. We have video footage of what actually happened. The keeper did catch it, so we don't have to live in an imaginary world where the ball went in, because it didn't.
English

@Dan__Burke__ Yes it is. That's because of the Opta rule that every goal is automatically a shot. This isn't a goal though, so the rule doesn't apply. We're not dealing with 'ifs' here because we have video footage of what actually happened.
English

@RobBryan1987 Yes it is. Also, if the ball flies off the crossbar, comes back out and Szobzslai does a magic sliding tackle that hits the keeper in the face it's a red card too. We can all make up magical situations.
English

@ryanOTHx If the ball goes in is it a goal and a shot on target ?
English
ry retweetledi

@ryanOTHx People have no idea. “If the keeper wasn’t there it goes in” so what about a through ball that is too far for a striker. The keeper trips and falls and the ball rolls in the empty net. That is not a shot is it. In the same way this over hit cross from a wide position isn’t a shot
English

If my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. It didn’t go in. Therefore it’s not a shot on target.
If a goalkeeper clears a ball from his own box and it rolls towards the other keeper, it’s not a shot. But it would be counted if it went in the goal. It’s still not a shot.
