Say whatever you want about the Flyers somehow clawing back into the playoff hunt. Any opinion is valid. But I will admit, it'll be really cool to see this team playing meaningful games when Porter Martone inks that ELC.

@ryanquigz Calling it a hockey town is flat out wrong. The fact Bettman thinks the only way to grow the game is to go to places like this and hand them players and victories is the dumbest shit in sports.

As insane as it sounds, Vegas is a hockey town. True Vegas locals bleed gold, and the addition of an NBA team won’t change that.

I don't think Bettman and the NHL get enough credit for being first to Las Vegas *and* changing the expansion draft rules to foster earlier success. The @GoldenKnights have deep roots in that community and, IMO, can survive a crowded sports market there.

@reedsw0rld I'm not saying Vegas is a hockey hotbed like Minnesota or Boston, but the Golden Knights are absolutely the most popular franchise in Vegas by far, and I truly don't see that ever changing. The Knights have a stranglehold on that town in the same way the Preds do in Nashville.

But saying Vegas is a hockey town the same way St. Paul or Detroit are, no way in hell.
Nobody knows how to skate in Vegas, tourists + the pregame clowny sideshow doesn’t make a hockey town.
