Cheektowaga officers were in North Buffalo attempting to make an arrest for an alleged assault at a Cheektowaga hotel, earlier in the week. One officer shot and killed the man, after he reportedly attacked them with a large knife. btpm.org/local/2025-08-…

Hailing it as "a new day for lacrosse," the Seneca Nation has announced that it is the new owner of the Rochester Knighthawks. The team was previously owned by the Pegula's but is now held by the Seneca Nation's business subsidiary, Seneca Holdings LLC. btpm.org/2025-08-05/the…

Amid questions around ownership of the @RocKnighthawks, leaders of the Seneca Nation (incl. their business holding company) will be at Blue Cross Arena for a press event on a "historic day for the Creator's game" that will "shape the future of the team and the City of Rochester"

@RocKnighthawks Ownership of a pro sports team by a Native nation is rare, though not unheard of, especially in the @NLL. The Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut partially owned the New England Black Wolves, and the team played at the nation's Mohegan Sun Casino before moving to Albany.
