It'll be interesting to see how Rogers' acquisition of Bell's ownership stake in the Toronto Maple Leafs changes the media landscape around the team. Will have to pay attention to what's written and by whom. Friedge got an exclusive interview with Sundin & Chayka yesterday, they joined Kyper & Bourne in studio, declined to appear on Overdrive. There was a noticeable delta in how Sportsnet and TSN covered / framed yesterday's events. I wonder if that chasm widens.

@feedthefish79 It’s a m*rtle mandate. Only shows up when there’s drama and makes it his goal to stir it up as much as possible. They thrive when the leafs struggle.

@MapleLeafsHS Exactly Alec. It would be absolutely alarming if he kept Berube, signals he does not have final say. Not gonna happen.

Chayka mentions looking at how the team broke out of its zone and team speed here. He's also a data guy. Really hard to picture how he could ever justify proceeding with Berube behind the bench after a critical review. That's if he's making the call...

@rybark13 I understand what you’re saying. And I’m saying the only reason Berube is still employed is because he could return as coach. Otherwise somebody, anybody, could have fired him yesterday or any 100 days before that.

@MarvelousMark17 You’re saying they’re keeping him. I’m saying the decision was supposedly left to this new management. I am saying they will not keep him. Numbers guy is not keeping Craig. They weren’t going to fire him on the podium.

@MarvelousMark17 Glasses said 20 times the coaching decision will be left to the new manager. The new manager was announced today and said Craig is a good coach but they will discuss his future in the near future. All seems very standard to me. I’m shocked if he ever coaches another game here.
