@tv5834472 the line between sympathy/empathy can definitely be blurry; imo the 🪓 one might be the former, the ⛈️ is the latter. i think it's still empathy because she's still putting herself into ⛈️'s shoes - it's just amplified because she knows what it feels like
English

@ryocliff When I made that, I thought a while about where to put her because but imo scenes like this are rare, she's most compassionate when it comes to stuff she can personally relate to, like children/family. And then I thought "is it really empathy if it's only her own experiences?"
English

@tv5834472 ryoshu is fairly empathetic; just terrible at showing it. biggest culprit is this scene in c6 wherein out of the 12 she's the only who tries to stop the fake-oufi from beating up ⛈️
though even outside of that, there's also moments like tkt, where she (tries to) comfort rodya...

English

@ryocliff truuu, he may be harsh and simple but he's among those that understand others the best

@Inspired_Nobody ect which is why i think it's not so seamless a fit
2. some time after the op i did realize rien and the index are at least an allusion of the idea of 'completing something no matter the cost' and i i've grown to appreciate that as time goes on; wish he had more screentime tho
English

@Inspired_Nobody fairly interesting observations so i'll address them both:
1. the difference between hell screen and c9's version narrative is that yoshihide finishes the screen out of his own artistic obsession + to honor his daughter, but canto 9 as a whole, focuses far more on the family asp
