I’m starting to see that these people who are anti-AI, really don’t know what’s truly at stake if they think programmers are dispensable over others.

What an excuse to say they still need programmers to run AI. That’s true, but with AI, they can have less programmers doing all that.

Like I said before, I am pro-AI, but I do have a line against how genAI is used. AI-assisted flows are genAI and that’s fine, rigging as well. I’m not sure about that self-updating environment/character reaction though. Surely they’ll use genAI from scratch since that’s too big

@VincDigiArt @ScionYT @Ninjago9101 No? That’s not how code works? Math formulas don’t change. Codes do even if the result is the same. Example is the Star Ocean: Anamnesis game. Devs said the global version was made from scratch with new codes. It wasn’t a copy/paste from JP.

@rythalia12 @ScionYT @Ninjago9101 Lets make it simpler then, if someone put out a Math formula out there in the public, is someone copying is nothing right? But someone hacking in and breaching security and ethical issues for Math formula made to hidden is bad right? that's the same with code.

@VincDigiArt @ScionYT @Ninjago9101 That’s different. Of course for you guys it’s fine because you need to do the same codes for your own project to make it work. It doesn’t mean other companies use the same codes as you for the same results is what I mean

@VincDigiArt @ScionYT @Ninjago9101 I’m pretty sure chatgpt can code, no matter how bad it is or if it works or not. Where do you think it gets those codes from?

@rythalia12 @ScionYT @Ninjago9101 We literally can't? I think all AI assist tool has that restriction already especially with Git I think, you can't fully copy someone's else's code that they didn't put in the public, plus it's code it's a laid out ruleset that hardly changes.

@ScionYT @Ninjago9101 I meant Gen Ai in creatives, I think I don't need to explain that when GenAi is in a bad image it's always GenAI in a creative's field.

@NasrADefg @iKaito_1 That self-update environment and character personality change seems genAI to me, especially if it’s too involved with in-game behavior because it will have millions. Sure, there’s like games like undertale, but those have programmed triggers like in visual novels and are limited

HoYoverse is reportedly expanding its AI research beyond gaming and wants to build a “self-evolving autonomous AI civilisation” > AI-generated virtual worlds > NPCs that can evolve on their own > Long-term AI ecosystem research > Expanding AI integration across future gaming projects > This is way bigger than just “AI NPCs” now. HoYoverse wants to create fully dynamic worlds where AI characters can learn, interact, and evolve over time. #Genshinimpact #Gacha

@elvenmaidinn Genuine question though for all the pro-AI and anti-AI crowd, could you guys still truly discern if the art is AI or not? Because nowadays, people see a mistake in drawing, people automatically accuse the artist of using AI lately.

As I reflect on the NTE AI Drama that swept through the gaming community, I find myself shaking my head at how quickly things spiraled out of control. I am passionate about my hobbies, you all know that, but I usually try to stay level-headed in these debates. I can say this with confidence: the AI used in NTE was minimal and was not affecting gameplay in any meaningful way. In fact, there were only two questionable uses of AI that sparked this entire huge drama, and that realization hits me hard because it shows just how disproportionate the backlash was. Looking at the Billboard piece, there was literally no other proof presented other than vague claims that it looks like AI. People kept pointing to the elbow of the male character as some smoking gun evidence of AI generation. But by doing my own digging, I discovered that the original art piece which served as the inspiration for it had the exact same elbow position. When the anti-AI crowd was confronted with that clear proof, I watched them either block you outright or pivot the narrative to accuse it of being a trace of the original art. This just exposed the bad faith arguments for what they were. In my honest opinion, it was nothing more than a quick look-alike homage in a game that is absolutely brimming with easter eggs from anime and video games. A simple tribute to the artist’s favorite movie turned into a source of unnecessary grief and division, and that makes me genuinely sad for the state of our community. Then came the Heist video, which got dissected frame by frame by multiple people. The majority zeroed in obsessively on supposed AI aspects, while only a handful of voices clearly pointed out the reality. It was an artist’s hand-drawn work, animated with the help of AI. They pointed out how the crisp, detailed frames contrasted with the smudged transitions. Those same people even recreated the process themselves to prove the point, leaving me with a question that still lingers in my mind. What truly makes something generative AI if the artist meticulously handcrafted the core art and only used AI for the transitions between their own creations? A hand-made picture to AI transition to hand-made picture. Does that even qualify as generative AI in the way the critics claim? This whole thing makes me question where we draw the line and why the goalposts keep moving. The morality debate around all this is another layer that weighs heavily on me. Famous V-Tuber Ironmouse publicly denounced NTE and claimed the devs had lied to her, even though those same devs had participated in public interviews openly admitting their use of AI. Seeing her fans aggressively attack anyone who dared question her stance on this, especially when we know she has accepted multiple sponsorships from Hoyoverse, a company caught using AI in both Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, and from Capcom for playing Resident Evil, where they admitted to using generative AI for background elements. The stark difference between those situations and NTE boils down to one simple conclusion: performative behavior. That selective application of standards really makes me pause and reflect on the hypocrisy that seems to fuel so much of this discourse. And then there were the social media trolls, often tied to rival gacha games, who jumped in by posting clips from NTE showing billboards using AI videos. Just a day later the guides on how to replace videos in billboards surfaced. After testing this myself the very next day, I quickly realized it was all a bait. You can actually put any MP4 video on those billboard surfaces. I had the Star Wars: A New Hope trailer playing perfectly on the cinema billboard, and others discovered you could replace TV videos and cinema videos too. This trap worked flawlessly, with people sharing those videos as evidence without bothering to test it themselves. It leaves me concerned about how misinformation spreads like wildfire in these spaces. Finally, the part that troubles me the most is watching the NTE devs bend the knee. They removed those two items that caused the outrage. This makes me wonder if we are witnessing a new form of censorship creeping into our games. If you use tools that I personally do not like, even if I do not even play your game, delete them or face my internet rage. They gave in to the pressure, and now I have to ask myself the hard questions. What comes next? Will the miniskirt skins get censored because certain people hate seeing sexy women in games? Will the devs be forced to alter character poses that someone finds offensive, all under threat of boycott? Are we truly okay supporting this kind of behavior? Because once you open that door to hell, as the saying goes, you will not be able to close it again. This scares me for the future of creative freedom in gaming, and it makes me determined to speak up more thoughtfully moving forward. What is worse, even when the devs removed the questionable pieces, was the anti-AI crowd happy. No, they were not. This simply shows that the outrage was never really about AI in the first place. In closing, processing all of this has taught me a lot about the dangers of mob mentality, selective outage, and rushed judgments. Let us all learn from this drama and gatekeep our hobbies harder than ever before.

Seeing all of this AI discourse, you all look stupid now for laughing at Yuki Kaji’s attempt to protect himself from AI. To me, he was thinking of precaution and the future, while all of you are just whining and protesting without doing anything to protect your artists.

Oh. If you guys still don’t get it, yes, I am pro-AI. But if you guys are gonna get mad at me for that and think “so you DO support genAI,” or that I’m doing mental gymnastics, then you guys just proved my point that you all think all AIs are the same.
Illitis@rythalia12

I only approve of AI, one that helps artists, programmers, developers, maybe even writers to help them develop their product. Not the ones that cuts corners because they wanna do it fast like you can with chatgpt. Heck, genAI is even trash when producing something-
