The team has been informed and is en route to site to investigate the cause of the outage.

*Cydna Substation (North Street Distributor):* Power has been restored up to 95%. This affected customers in Illovo, Melrose, and surroundings.
The teams are still busy with investigations on the Illovo West Distributor. The initial ETR of 22:00 could not be met and has, therefore, been revised to 02:00, provided all goes as planned. Customers in parts of Melrose, Athol, Illovo, Elton Hill, Inanda, Waverly, and surrounding areas remain affected.
Developments will be communicated once information becomes available.

Alexandra Substation:
We are pleased to inform customers in Alexandra from 17th Avenue to 18th Avenue between Selbourne Street and Vasco Da Gama Street, as well as East Bank, that the power supply is fully restored.
The outage was reported this morning caused by a faulty cable.

Alexandra SDC Outage Update
Date: 30 July 2025
Gresswold Substation
Repairs on the faulty transformer are at a progressive stage. The estimated time of restoration is 15:00 this afternoon, if all goes accordingly. At the moment, 98% of the power supply has been restored. The remaining customers at Wellington Road, Milton and Hennie Streets, will be updated on developments as the work progresses.
We once again apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience whilst our team of dedicated technicians work around the clock to ensure that repairs are conducted in a safe manner.
Note: To avoid the risk of potential damage or inrush current incidents during the restoration process, customers are requested to unplug all electrical appliances during outages. ^OS
