@pakaworld @AndroidPolice You can use Autora Store, that fetches the apps from the same server as Play Store does, but without giving Google any personal information. So you would still have access to the same apps. And btw many Play Store apps have an open-source alternative on F-Droid.

One of big challenge getting rid of Google is a very simple feature in apps: notifications. On Android it's GCM and now FCM, and its use is rising even for progressive web apps (PWA). Very bad for #privacy. Any good, open source, P2P alternatives app developers could use?

Just clean installed Windows 10 Redstone 5 on my main machine and installed all my essential desktop apps (Netflix, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, Ubuntu, Office 365, Slack, Telegram, Tweeten, ShareX, and EarTrumpet) from the Microsoft Store. Windows 10 in 2018 really is amazing.

@googleeurope @Android After disabling (not only removing from the Home screen as you did) ALL Google apps my old device runs perfectly. If I could uninstall them that would be even better, but you restrict that. It's basically impossible to uninstall gapps without root. Shame
