Im Westen wird dieselbe Ideologie von Politik, Medien und großen Teilen der Wissenschaft als harmlose „Friedensreligion“ vermarktet. Die einheimische Bevölkerung soll mit ihren Steuergeldern nicht nur Ramadan-Beleuchtungen und andere religiöse Inszenierungen finanzieren, sondern den Hidschab – ein traditionelles Instrument weiblicher Unterdrückung – als emanzipatorisches Symbol von Selbstbestimmung feiern. Gleichzeitig wird von ihr erwartet, Praktiken wie Kinderehe und Polygamie stillschweigend zu dulden, alles im Namen von Inklusion, Toleranz und Diversity.

I know there are thousands still inside the ranks of the IRGC who feel the same disgust I once felt. They stay because they fear for their families, because of economic pressure, or because the intelligence apparatus watches everyone. But to my former brothers who still wear that uniform, the regime is using you as a wall between its stolen wealth and the anger of the nation. When that wall finally collapses, and it will, they will flee in private jets to places like Caracas or Moscow. You will be the ones left to answer to the people of Iran. I left everything behind because I could no longer be a jailer in my own home. Sara (Houra) Asgari, a young woman from Yasuj, was violently arrested on January 9, 2026 when IRGC Intelligence forces raided her home. She was held in solitary confinement for days, completely cut off from her family. Inside detention, she was twice forced to undergo degrading body searches while filmed. Her cell’s extreme under-floor heating caused suffocating heat and physical distress. Under intense psychological pressure, her right eye began to fail. Within four days, she lost vision in it completely. Doctors later confirmed severe fluid buildup behind the retina caused by extreme trauma and stress. Even after prison medical staff formally approved an urgent hospital referral, the interrogating prosecutor refused, mockingly claiming her eye was “healthier than mine.” Critical treatment was delayed. By the time she was released on February 9, her condition had severely worsened. Attempts to restore vision failed due to life-threatening complications. Sara’s blindness is not an accident. It is the result of torture, humiliation, and deliberate medical neglect.
