@saddest_fish Hello! If the adults (or simply the founders) already left the nest would not survive long enough to complete its cycle. If you want to raise your larvae, you’d have to feed them many times throughout the day.

Posting on my public account so ppl might see this- any bug ppl who are fairly knowledgeable about wasps available to answer a couple questions in DMs? 😅 my landlord knocked down a nest of polistes annularis and I'm wondering if there's any way I can save them

@HuiSt I removed the surviving larvae but they sat in the pesticide soaked nest for several hours before I got home so I'm not sure what their chances are 😕 I coexisted with these guys for so long and watched them build the nest I'm kind of heartbroken

@HuiSt Apparently he sprayed the nest prior to removing it :( I checked on the site and about 20 or so adults were lined up sleeping along the doorframe where the nest used to be. The nest itself was a few feet away on the ground completely drenched

Random story In highschool I got scolded by the whole class in Biology when I told them bears are omnivores after the teacher puts bears alongside carnivores when there’s an omnivore section that has primates, ants and birds, They also have the Hogs in herbivores.

For those on the left who think this is justified retribution: Imagine visiting the clinic to see your PCP, and you notice a MAGA flag displayed in the lobby. You politely express your concerns about the flag, and shortly afterwards, you are unexpectedly discharged from the clinic on grounds of your comments being considered ‘hateful’. We have to stop the pretense that the LGBTQ/Trans flag is a non-political symbol. Hospitals and clinics should strive to be neutral spaces, and political symbols that are capable of alienating patients should be avoided. I believe it is within the rights of a patient to request that the clinic they attend be a non-political space. (Photo below is an NHS hospital)
