That's any uninvested Rand sitting in your ZAR or TFSA account. It accrues daily and gets credited on the first business day of the following month.

They charge a 1.50% Cash Management Fee on that uninvested cash that earns interest. (Which includes the 15% VAT charge already).
𝗔𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲,
Your net interest after the fee is around R1,750/month on R400k uninvested capital, working out to be an effective net rate of 5.25% p.a.

I'm not saying you should leave cash in a brokerage account to earn interest, I'm just sharing data with you of what happens in the account and what they do. So calm yourself.

I’ve got two friends both sitting on roughly R400,000 cash each. They both keep this cash in their EasyEquities. However, 🇿🇦Friend (A) keep it in ZAR 🇺🇸Friend (B) keep it in USD ✅Friend (A) gets paid interest ❌Friend (B) gets no interest. If you did not know, EasyEquities pays interest on ZAR cash but not on USD cash. My point, if you are Friend (B) make sure you got a plan before you buy USD.

We must make it clear to all whom we welcome in our beautiful country including the new US ambassador. That South Africa’s international relations policy will not be dictated to by anyone else but South Africans and their government.
Threats of investors pulling out such as Amazon, Google, VISA and Microsoft are unfounded. These companies came to the G20 even though the Trump administration didn’t show up. US companies are confident in the South African economy as seen by Walmart recently entering the South African market. South Africa is open for business and is a safe destination for global companies to do business.
We reiterate that South Africa believes in a multipolar world which respects international law and international institutions that support a system of multilateralism.

@talkcentss David I'm 50/50 about opening a tax free for my kid. I'm worried that when he turns 18, he will just take the money and splurge it
