@trpwolff @Kgreenstien There are lots of tests and substance analysis methods out there, some more precise than others. @aKosmicare at Boom festival in Portugal and increasingly @DanceSafe in the US have sensitive enough machinery to be pretty damn close to sure what's in product sold underground.

New AMA clinical codes for MDMA therapy - am I correct reading this as only the dosing session ie. not preparation/integration? Also, interesting eg. that MDMA may 'surface past psychological trauma' - I would argue thats the psychotherapy, not the MDMA ama-assn.org/system/files/c…

@Kgreenstien Oop you're right about that being codes not guidance. I don't think that the current language means nothing... but do agree that more specificity is usually a good thing and naming crisis risk could be helpful as well

@sage_izzy I thought this was simply the billing codes, not guidance? I think inclusion of vague language like this is odd - it would be a lot less loaded to just say "due to a psychological crisis" full stop. "Surfaces past trauma" is incredibly vague and essentially means nothing

@Kgreenstien In other words, while there's plenty to analyze and critique about the guidance, the line you highlighted is v reasonable to include as a note about the molecule not just about the modality

@Kgreenstien Sure it's possible, especially if one is under the impression that they're there to treat PTSD or something related. My point is just that it is a phenomenon that can also happen with MDMA alone in a variety of settings including the above + alone at home, regardless of prompts.
