@aegonfurball @CaptainChaotika I suggest the slicker brush with protective tips on the bristles for the medium and log fur, and the beard brush for .5 fur as someone else was suggesting. Happy brushing and never stay matted ✨
English

@CaptainChaotika @saikozza What brush would you recommend? I've only ever had makers recommend these brushes - both with and without the plastic beads. I'm washing the fullsuit today so perfect timing haha
English

I can’t stress this enough. If you brush like this you’re literally doing nothing
The bristles of the brush MUST get between the fur fibres, otherwise they will not be able to separate them. Just brush gently and avoid touching the bottom of the fabric to not rip the fur

Still brushing your fur the wrong way? Brush with the grain to reduce fur loss by nearly half… #furry #fursuit #Fursuitmaker

@saikozza It depends on which brand you purchase, I get the ones from PetSmart that are double sided. It doesn’t make a difference on long fur, I absolutely wouldn’t use it on anything longer than .5 of an inch. But on face is def smoothes it out and separates the tiny fibers.

@auroraabloom Thank you angel for the explanation ✨
And yes, usually areas that are exposed to friction (armpits, behind the knee, the chin-neck area, around the tail attachment) tend to mat more easily
English

@saikozza Unironically watching dog grooming videos help explain how to properly use slicker brushes ! There’s a ✨ technique. My suit gets pretty matted on my elbow crease and armpits so brushing with an outward sweep motion is the best. If I do it upside down the Matt doesn’t come out

@spiritpandasuit Exactly!! Brushes with protective tips on every bristle are the best one
English

@saikozza Yeah i feel like this is one of the biggest misconceptions of fursuit care out there 😅 I'd stay away from fully metal brushes like this all together, honestly. Use the ones with the plastic tips and be gentle with it
English

@CaptainChaotika This brush is fine as long as it has protective tips on every bristle, but yes. A more suitable brush specifically for shot fur is even better
English

@saikozza Honestly, unless it’s short fur, don’t use this type of brush. lol
