Why it’s a pastor Whilst teaching in church I serve as pastor earlier in the week ,I made a very important commentary on an explanation I had done earlier and how I had to review and reexplain it Now I said , that’s the joy of a local assembly I simply spoke to same audience and structure I had taught and have oversight over I need no press release or communique That’s showboating We were studying earlier , studying now and will continue to And as a local assembly grow together and ably and graciously of God under the watch of the same pastor ! That’s how doctrinal issues are Nothing for the social media Semplicita #chrissegunonayinka #saintscommunitychurch

GOD, RICHES AND WEALTH The subject of money and faith isn't one that one can wish away easily. The believer must find out the theology that is within the scriptures in his worship of God, as touching riches, wealth and things that pertain to it. Rich or riches should therefore be a subject that must be addressed theologically by Pastors and Christian leaders. This is what we have set out to do in this material, following our earlier material, “Faith in the Gospel of Christ and material wealth, we put forth an Old Testament/ New Testament exegetical piece in looking at the subject of riches and how God intends that the believer should view it or use it as well. We trust that this will help many believers as well in reaching a balance in how to use natural things with spiritual resources and for spiritual pursuits. As you study this material, we believe God that your eyes will be opened to see how God wants the riches, wealth and resources of this earth to be used in a way that will bring glory to his name. THE NAME OF Jesus (Yesterday, Today and Forever) This is a continuation of the series that began in 2011, it brings to bear a concise understanding of apostolic writing and the emphasis on the use of the name of Jesus. It's a study from the Old Testament into the epistles on the subject of the name of Jesus. Pastor explained further how and why His name is referred to as the believers’ authority. What is it today? What does it really mean to use the name of Jesus? It's wholesome and heavily didactic. SERVICE (4) Service (4)- Bible Thots-( Our Sanctification )2 Satan is the god of this world. By this we do not refer to the things in the earth. The things in the Earth belong to God. NOTHING was ever created by or for Satan! Paul mentioned this on the issue of foods offered to idols. 1 Corinthians 10:25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: 26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof. There is no food belonging to any idol. None was made by any demon. The things in the earth belong to Jehovah God! Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. However where the devil controls (the world) are the activities that surround these things. For these things have no life of their own. They are controlled by man who can desire and choose how, why and with what he will relate with them. Thus Satan’s rulership is within man’s will, choices and pursuits. By man here we refer to the man in the flesh. He is Unsaved, a son of disobedience. Let us examine a few scriptures on this. 2Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4- In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. He rules in them who have not believed the gospel. Ephesians 2:1- And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2- Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3- Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. The spirit that works (is active) in the children of disobedience to the gospel. Paul speaks of the power of the air. Air in this context isn’t the atmospheric air. It is the same Greek connotation for spirit. The prince of the power (authority) of the spirit- The spirit in the unbeliever. This spirit is manifested in desires, opinions, views, lusts, pursuits. 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever The world refers to desires or better still is manifested in hows and whys of pursuits. Never to glorify God. It is to glorify self. SELF IS LORD AND KING IN THIS WORLD. It is a system that beautifies humanity. It sees sinful man as good, nice, and intelligent. Hence a purview of the temptation of Jesus will buttress this. Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9- And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10- Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Satan never claimed things in the earth. He claimed the people. The manner things were done. The kingdoms. The glory of them-SELFISHNESS. I will give you......if you will worship me i.e. worship your desires. Put self first. For this was the same in Eden. You shall become. Your eyes shall be opened....! Self! Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The godless (Gentiles) seek things. The believer seeks Christ. Seeking here does not mean wanting to have alone. It is putting first. Preference. In other words: What dominates you. Whatever we worry about is our master. It dominates us. Hence Paul’s recommended cure is to renew the mind. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Conform here means to start to adapt; trying to fit in. We must be transformed. This is a manifestation of Christ within into our pursuits and plans. This is by His Word, Our sanctification- John17:17. The more time we spend in the Word, the more reformed and renewed our thoughts and desires will be. The more time we spend outside the Word, the more self is glorified. For we are in this world! Though not of it but surrounded by it. So it’s either the Word is influencing us or the world (Satan, flesh, self) is influencing us. There are no neutral thoughts, desires or opinions! Darkness or Light, Good or Evil. No middle grounds! Simple. Seen this? Say I stay in the Word. I stay away from the influences of this world. I stay in my sanctification. I call you blessed Jesus is Lord,We win! #chrissegunonayinka #saintscommunitychurch

Service (3) The heroes and models of Christianity are defined by scriptures. They are those who lay aside in order to serve. They put aside ambitions, pleasures and privileges to serve others. They follow Christ. They Model Him. They make us see in the present day why and how Christ came. Jesus came to Serve. To be used of others. He was "our" waiter. He waited on us- on our needs and insufficiencies. The Woman at the well must have been astonished when He told her who He was. John 4:10 Jesus answered her, If you had only known and had recognized God’s gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him [instead] and He would have given you living water. He waited on her. To serve her. To save her. She got the gist. She went about to get more people for Him to serve! John 4:39 Now numerous Samaritans from that town believed in and trusted in Him because of what the woman said when she declared and testified, He told me everything that I ever did. 40 So when the Samaritans arrived, they asked Him to remain with them, and He did stay there two days. 41 Then many more believed in and adhered to and relied on Him because of His personal message [what He Himself said. Jesus remained with them to serve them. He was hungry. But service came calling. He went for the higher cause. To serve others. When the disciples came he summarised it this way. John 4:31 Meanwhile, the disciples urged Him saying, Rabbi, eat something. 32 But He assured them, I have food (nourishment) to eat of which you know nothing and have no idea. 33 So the disciples said one to another, Has someone brought Him something to eat? 34 Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work. Simple. I am satisfied when others are blessed. This is the spirit of Christianity. We must learn to forgo pleasures and privileges if we are to truly serve. 1Corinthians 9:19 For although I am free in every way from anyone’s control, I have made myself a bond servant to everyone, so that I might gain the more [for Christ. Service is a choice. You choose to be available for others to use! 1 Corinthians 10:33 Just as I myself strive to please [to accommodate myself to the opinions, desires, and interests of others, adapting myself to] all men in everything I do, not aiming at or considering my own profit and advantage, but that of the many in order that they may be saved. I have often taught that "the call of God" upon our lives begins when we lay aside our plans and pursuits to follow His. Mark 10:29 Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel’s 30 Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. They didn’t divorce their wives or disown their kids. Peter still retained his wife and family (1 Corinthians 9:5). But when service comes calling, you put the gospel above family! Above wealth, earthly positions and possessions. Your priorities change. It is no longer family first. It is Christ first. The gospel first. Lives first. Service first Service is the proof of growth. Your personal holiness is useless and vain if NO ONE is receiving salvation, edified, blessed, helped, assisted by you! Service involves helping others. Meeting the needs of others. This service is primarily directed to the Church. We must see ourselves as conduit pipes for others. I mean primarily fellow believers. We must take care of others. We are NOT doing them a favour. We are serving them. I once grumbled about members of the church disturbing me with requests, needs, counselling requests too. The Lord rebuked me. You can’t grumble over what is your core work. If you grumble , you grumble at Me. You lose your reward. You are to be used. I quickly repented. It is an honour to be bugged. I am only filling the shoes of my Lord! What a privilege! So as not to lose my reward I set my heart right. Motive is more important than activity. I LOVE TO SERVE. We must begin to see ourselves filling the Masters PLACE. The unseen Lord is seen through our devotion to others- most importantly, the Church. He served, we serve. He was used, we are being used. 1 Corinthians 11:1 Pattern yourselves after me [follow my example], as I imitate and follow Christ (the Messiah). If we must follow men, it must be because they follow the Master. They serve like Him. Many have "dragged" ministry into worldliness. It is now affluence and influence. It is shameful to find Christian leaders teaching secular, worldly leadership. We have been taught and have said that leadership is influence. I agree. But what is that influence? Charisma? Oratory? Wealth? Wits? Fame or acclaim? Matthew 20:25 And Jesus called them to Him and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection [tyrannizing over them]. 26 Not so shall it be among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, 27 And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave Service. This is the influence. We stop taking initiatives from the world. We must be the influence. The servants. In His service. 1Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. Before you start looking for "those who are not serving", remember that its’ our collective CALL! By the Way,its trite to NOTE that u will not be judged for another persons work but yours. No matter the amount of energy u put into judging other ministries,u will discover that u have simply being a busy body if u have no work at all to be judged. The Following scriptures will help 1Cor3:12 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. You will be tested for what you did/do and not Oyedepo's Church or Hagins's books or Spurgeons errors or Oritsejafors Jet. 2Cor5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Things You have done in the body not what others are doing or are not doing. Rom14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. You will give account of yourself NOT others to God. Keep more watch on your life, ministry and doctrine just as Paul warned timothy! Its needful to know just as Paul had a course to follow and Finnish (2Tim4:7),we all have ours and must keep watch over this. Archippus was told to take heed to his ministry and fulfill it and not other's(Col4;17)! Its time to serve and be available to the Body of Christ.Keep busy working in His House We must be models for one another! Seen this? I love to serve, I want to serve the church- The body of Christ. You have blessed weekend Jesus is lord, We win! #chrissegunonayinka #saintscommunitychurch

Service (2) Service is the proof of growth. You can’t claim Christian growth without service. The very foundation of faith is service. God became a man to serve His creation. If you don’t give up pleasures, glory, pride, and treasures you can’t claim to be serving. Let us examine the following scriptures: Ephesians 4:11 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. 12 His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church). (Amplified Bible) The work of pastors (Christian leaders generally) is to raise more servants! More people in the service of serving others- The Body of Christ. This service isn’t in positions, though positions could be formally defined. This service is in the work. Matthew 20:25 And Jesus called them to Him and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection [tyrannizing over them]. 26 Not so shall it be among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, 27 And whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave— 28 Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. (Amplified Bible) Ministry is to serve others. The Greek word for service and servant (Greek is the original language of the New testament) translates it as synonymous with the waiter at the restaurant. He takes your orders. Pastors must be seen as raising servants in their teaching and by example. Let us hear Jesus again. John 13:4 Got up from supper, took off His garments, and taking a [servant’s] towel, He fastened it around His waist. 5 Then He poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the [servant’s] towel with which He was girded. 6 When He came to Simon Peter, [Peter] said to Him, Lord, are my feet to be washed by You? [Is it for You to wash my feet?] 7 Jesus said to him, You do not understand now what I am doing, but you will understand later on. 8 Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with (in) Me [you have no share in companionship with Me]. 9 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, [wash] not only my feet, but my hands and my head too! 10 Jesus said to him, Anyone who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is clean all over. And you [My disciples] are clean, but not all of you. 11 For He knew who was going to betray Him; that was the reason He said, Not all of you are clean. 12 So when He had finished washing their feet and had put on His garments and had sat down again, He said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you? 13 You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you. 16 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, A servant is not greater than his master, and no one who is sent is superior to the one who sent him. (Amplified Bible) This is no mystery. No mystic beliefs. It’s an age-long practice of service. Whom you serve, you honour. Jesus teaches service here. He laid aside his garments. He was naked. He stripped Himself of all glory. He laid aside his position in His office. His fat pay check. He put down his wealth. His background. His pedigree. He bends. He is down at the feet of His disciples. He is showing them He values them just as God does! Paul teaches this too. Philippians 2:1 So by whatever [appeal to you there is in our mutual dwelling in Christ, by whatever] strengthening and consoling and encouraging [our relationship] in Him [affords], by whatever persuasive incentive there is in love, by whatever participation in the [Holy] Spirit [we share], and by whatever depth of affection and compassionate sympathy, 2 Fill up and complete my joy by living in harmony and being of the same mind and one in purpose, having the same love, being in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention. 3 Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. 4 Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. 5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] 6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, 7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. 8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! (Amplified Bible) We are to know to treat others as important. That is the foundation for service. Some were "serving" in churches when they were young, weren’t rich, hadn’t gotten lucrative jobs etc., and suddenly stopped when wealth surfaced and worldly positions came. Then they stopped serving. Truth is...THEY NEVER SERVED! You can’t be humble when there’s nothing to lose, give up or lay aside. Humility is the key to Christian service. Just like Jesus, we are not acting our age, social status, earthly positions, or intelligence. We lay it aside and become waiters! Servants! Sometimes in Church we have made heroes out of men of influence and clout. When they give testimonies of the contracts and their newly-acquired possessions we think such is the Kingdom of God! They ONLY become our models when they SERVE! 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. Hope this is clear? I choose to serve in God’s house. I choose to be humble! Jesus is lord ,We Win #chrissegunonayinka #saintscommunitychurch
